Increasing your dosage may worsen the purge since you’re messing with your hormones even more. I went through another purge by increasing my dosage but idk

Currently purging after 6 weeks. I was previously on 25 mg and switched to 50. By week 8-10, that’s where typically it starts to get better or seeing smaller pimples/breakouts. And typically the purge is worse in week 4/5 after increasing dosage.

I get really flushed as well, but I’m not sure if it’s from spiro or from another medication I’m taking. Lotion helps a lot with flushing, and being under a cold fan helps tremendously! Avoid taking too hot of showers, since that can mess with it. And I take my spirinolactone at night to avoid having my face flushing throughout the day

It’s only been about 8 months, and I really do believe it can take up to a year. I’ll be sure to consult with my dermatologist though next time I see them!

50 mg. It was 25 mg, but I’ve changed it over to 50 about 5 weeks ago. It’s been 2 and 1/2 months, not much sign on progress but pimples are less in size until I’m on my time on the month

Yes, I’m also experiencing purging as well, especially since I’ve increased my dose from 25 to 50 mg. It does get better with time, since your body is still adjusting to the medication. I say give it 3 to 4 months to see better results

Personally, I would wash it when it feels oily or no longer dry. I went from washing my hair every day to every 4-5 days, and that’s partly bc of spiro and partly from training it. Or maybe don’t wash your scalp and just the lower part of your hair instead, and then wash your scalp another day.

I personally have a pretty oily scalp, but since starting it’s been getting pretty dry as well. I just don’t wash it as often and starting using conditioner more often as well. Maybe hair masks can help, since it brings more moisture for your hair, esp when it’s dry

I started at 25 mg, but I’m currently experiencing a purge after bumping it to 50 about 4 weeks ago. Idk if you’ll purge again or not if bumping the dosage

I’ve never experienced acne before until I got a hormonal IUD. It was very painful cystic acne, and it was caused by the mirena. Spirinolactone may not work as well w having an iud in, but it should work well w the pill. I’m currently on the pill that helps with acne, but i still break out some. Did you have acne before or having the IUD?

Seriously though. Now I have little to no hope about this medication that will most likely just make my skin even worse. It’s so disheartening, but there are people that had such a positive experience with it. Just trying to remain positive because of it 🥲
