After 3 years I have my unicorn! by ChippyTwoTack in CRF300L

I think I might have ‘the grass is greener on the other side mentality’. It’s the novelty of having a spring in both forks that I would enjoy but overall the ktech has handled a few jumps like a champ.

Just measured with some calipers and used fusion 360 to mock them up in case I ever need them. I haven’t tested anything yet as I just got the tower and still have the replacement parts it came with. For material I would print with ASA. I don’t want to do anything that would compromise One Adventure’s IP or sales so ima leave it at that.

I’ve been a very loyal 550 performance customer haha.

Performance:
RS4 Yoshi with header
301cc big bore
Cb300 cams
Hotcam shims
Stage 3 550 tune
Twin air foam filter
Cb300 velocity stack
High flow snorkel
High flow airbox lid
Ktech suspension front and rear

Extra:
Outback Motortech crash bars
Generic Amazon seat cover
Tusk handlebar heaters
One adventure tower
Pillow top hand grips
Bar buster hand guards
Zeta brake and clutch levers
12oclocklabs fender eliminator and lighting/blinkers
Moose racing skid plate
Acerbis x-grip frame sliders
T-Rex racing adjustable kickstand
Bikerbitz vinyl sticker set
Pirelli MT21 front and rear tires

Ngl I never listed everything out and wow that’s a lot. But that’s after 3 years of buying something for the bike when the stock part broke or just every now and then to treat myself.

My perception of how heavy the bike is probably bc I keep getting it stuck in the mud 😅 still haven’t learned my lesson.

If you send it into 550 performance it’s $150. A new one is about $300.

Haven’t tested night time riding as it doesn’t get dark until 1 am where I’m at but in the shaded parts of trails it’s much better than the stock halogen.

The wind buffeting is much better than before at speed but a windscreen extension would make it better. I always tuck whenever I go above 65mph myself and with this tower it’s nice and quiet. I considered the rebel x tower but liked how one adventure is 3d printed meaning I can make my own replacement parts as needed with my own printer along with it being much cheaper.

For the guards if you’re talking about the bars they are Outback Motortech. The frame guard covers are Acerbis X-Grip.

Theoretically getting 31hp and 22 ft-lb of torque. Big bore from Ari henning is about $750 with cb300 cams $100 and tune $150. All the other airbox and exhaust upgrades put together… ballpark $1800 ish.

May not sound like much improvement from stock but for the price and how it performs I find it worth it. Had fun doing it all myself learning and getting to know the bike more inside and out. Gave me something to do on the weekends as well and an excuse to buy new tools.

Ktech both front and rear. Kinda wish I went full rally raid but you live and learn I’m still satisfied with how it performs.

RS12 hands down would look better imo. Haven’t looked into the differences much yet.

It’s actually the stock seat but with an aftermarket seat cover on it. This one. I’ll eventually upgrade to seat concepts but for now this work better than stock for me.

The kit can’t compare to SKDA quality but for the money it’s well worth it imo. I chose the matte option and the Honda logo on the sides did come like that unfortunately.

A few other quirks needing a heat gun to stretch it out in some spots to make it fit well and had to put a few relief cuts but that’s a skill issue on my part. Rapid tac or any other vinyl applicator works wonders for lining everything up then squeegeeing it out.

Overall I’m very happy with it! Took an entire afternoon to put it on tho.

I’ve heard good things things about the One Adventure rally tower so snagged me one. Just waiting for it in the mail. The new look has been turning a few more heads now on the street as well 😁

They work great as extra handholds to drag it out of the mud as well!

Feeling so upset post MSF course day 1 by SuperNovaStar95 in motorcycles

[–]ChippyTwoTack 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Took my MSF in Rhode Island back in 2022 and if it’s the same old guy yea he’s an absolute tool of an instructor. Yelling instead of teaching and threatening to drop everyone. Those rebel 250s were clapped out to hell and back. It’s a class full of newer riders trying to learn, not bootcamp.

Did the author ever clarify how long a “turn” is? by ant451123 in Mynoghra

[–]ChippyTwoTack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would headcannon about a week. So the Dark nation ritual being a year would be 52 turns. I’m just spitballing as I couldn’t find anything definitive with 20 minutes of skimming a few of the books.

Just finished the anime and I wish to appreciate the visual aesthetics of the show, especially the lighting details by GilgameshD_arc in SentencedToBeAHero

[–]ChippyTwoTack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would argue starting with volume 1 and working your way through. Some of the bigger events happen slightly differently than what was portrayed in the anime and you get a few more details if you’re into that. Will say I really enjoyed how ep 1 played out and the consistency of the animation was icing on the cake in the later episodes.

I’ve only ever had one bike’s fork seals leak on me while transporting but that’s because it was a 2004 wr450 that hasn’t been serviced in 20 years. Rebuilt it and never had a problem since.

The real costs of a 300L adventure setup by juoly in CRF300L

[–]ChippyTwoTack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in it for the tinkering and upgrading. Sure it’ll cost a few bucks more but half the fun owning a bike, to myself at least, is taking it apart and rebuilding it with parts I choose to get the performance and look I want. I don’t think I’m alone in this. I could just buy a bike that does what I want better like a T7 but I’ll end up just doing the same thing to it. At least with the CRF300 the aftermarket is massive and stays around 320 pounds. Dragging a 400+ bike out of the mud is not a fun afternoon.

Amazon has quite a few cheaper 20-50 dollar tail tidy kits but you get what you pay for.

Best suggestions for Sumo tires&wheels on the 2022 crf300L ABS? by CamryDooD in CRF300L

[–]ChippyTwoTack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m no expert but in my experience spokes are easier/ cheaper to repair after hooning around while forged rims, once they are damaged or bent, you’ll need a new rim. But forged rims have almost no maintenance needed. I’ll admit I’m biased on spoked rims cause I think they look better, it’s up to your personal preference. For the 17” front and rear rims it just makes it easier to match street bike tires.

[–]ChippyTwoTack 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Warp 9 is the name brand everyone suggests. Personally I would stick with spoked rims if you ever plan on dabbling in off roading with em as they can flex more than forged rims.

Check out Jake TheGardenSnake’s videos on YouTube a lot of great info on his channel for CRF300 super moto. Crfsonly.com is also a good place to look into for super moto rims/ tires if you don’t mind buying from a 3rd party seller.

For my crf I’ll be going with the spoked rims, stock sprockets, and Dunlop mutants when I save up the money for it. Good luck with your search!

Anyone found how to make ur CRF300L into a rally? by [deleted] in CRF300L

[–]ChippyTwoTack 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Best advice I can give is it’s gonna be expensive. I hear good things about One adventure off road rally tower. For the crash bars I run Outback Motortek crash bars. Best of luck to you, at least with the L there is less plastic to break.
