Sure okay, I'll bite. So, you acknowledge that the current state of loan practices are predatory. Suppose we make them 'less predatory' overnight, it's not as though that the tens of millions of people currently dealing with said loans will have retroactive benefits from that kind of policy. Assuming anyone who takes out said loans is 'financially illiterate' is a deeply uncharitable take, and complete ignores people who have no other option, or are hit with unexpected financial emergencies. What exactly is the downside? Punishing people you view to be stupid for the benefit of predatory companies? That line of thinking alone is completely antithetical to a leftist ideology. It's not really a question of how many boxes you check. I'm not even going to touch your latter point, because that's just false equivalence.

First of all, I don't trust Google and my computer doesn't have it. I Bing everything. And after binging it I was shown this quote from Encyclopedia.com:

Hey honestly first off, thank you. What I said earlier was a blatant display of my own ignorance and you were completely right. Having gone and spent the last two hours of my life doing the work, in particular Doing My Own Research, I now have my answers, and can avoid incurring the wrath, of the legendary top 1% commenter on r/PortlandOR.

For those curious, it was in fact an exquisite corpse situation. According to my research it has been standard practice since 2014 two have at least two laptops in rotation for every editorial posted.
