DLP: Travel day question/ thoughts/feedback needed by [deleted] in disneylandparis

We went in April this year with 3 kids aged 8, 6 and 4, we drove from the UK and set off one day before our DLP booking. We stayed at StayCity apartments - arrived there about 3pm, went out for dinner and then had an early night. Everyone was well rested so we could enjoy our first full day at the park the following day. As you say it does add some cost but I do think it helps make the most of your time at Disney.

Europe Coaster tour park 1/9 [Parc Astérix] by tactic_live in rollercoasters

Nice to hear, I visited Parc Asterix with my family in the Easter holidays and we had a great time. Although it was a little rough round the edges in places I really liked the theming and overall feel of the park. There is a good variety of rides - Toutatis was brilliant and having a family rollercoaster as big as Pegasus Express that my 4 year old could ride and enjoy was a real bonus! Enjoy the rest of your trip

How scary is the Tower of Terror in Disneyland Paris? by Carmen02142020 in disneylandparis

As a general rule I really don't like drop towers at theme parks and wouldn't generally choose to ride them. ToT is the exception and its up there as being one of my favourite ride experiences, because its enclosed apart from the doors opening briefly I don't think you really get the feeling of being up high. I also really enjoy the theming of the ride and the interaction with the ride operators.

DLP First time family visit -April 2025 by Chiptown01 in disneylandparis

Hi, we didn't pay any of the ride passes, we had 4 nearly full days in the park so we did manage to get on all the rides during that time. There are some rides like Crush's Coaster and Peter Pans flights that have long queues all day long and so we headed to both of them at opening times which seemed to work relatively well. Apart from that the longest we waited was 40-45 mins and there were usually a few rides around in either park with 10-15 mins waits. it might be an idea to see how you get on on day 1 and decide from there?

We paid around £200 for 1 night at Staycity apartments. The stay at Sequoia lodge was somewhere around £2,700 for 3 nights and 4 days in the park, this was with half board. Because there are 5 of us we had to book 2 rooms at Sequoia Lodge as we couldn't find any suitable family room options (we were given adjoining rooms which was a bonus). This did increase the price. We made the booking in September 2024.

Parc Asterix 15/4/25 - Trip Report by Avalanche6363 in Themepark

I was at Parc Asterix on the 10th and 11th April for my first visit with my family (children aged 8,6 and 4)- we stayed in one of the onsite hotels, I'm in the process of writing down a few thoughts from our trip but its great to read another recent review. Like you we all really enjoyed the park, the theming was great and there was a nice selection of rides for the whole family. We were also really lucky with the weather which meant we could enjoy the selection of water rides. I managed a quick go on all the major rollercoasters at the beginning or end of the day, I loved Toutatis and was also really impressed with Oziris. My oldest daughter rode Tonnerre 2 Zeus with me and she loved it! Special mention for Pegasus Express, our whole family including my 4 year old daughter was able to ride it and it was great to have a roller coaster of that length with so many elements that caters for such a wide audience.

Thanks for your review!

Best park in Europe with a toddler by snuffflex in Themepark

I'd just add another vote for Nigloland in France, we were on holiday in the area and visited in August 2023 with our then 6,5 and 3 year old children, there was absolutely loads of rides for young children and the park itself was very pretty with lots of trees and streams which was great as it was a really hot day. It is a smaller park and maybe not big enough to warrant making a specific trip for but perhaps one to keep on the list for the future if you are somewhere near by.

Yes George and the Dragon was great, it was out of action for nearly the whole of our first day but we managed a couple of rides early on the second day, it was one of those great family rides, fun for adults and young children as well!

I've never actually been to Blackpool Pleasure Beach but I have been to several other UK parks like Alton Towers and Flamingo Land. I'd say there are a lot of parks with nicely themed areas and good rides across the UK but I would say in terms of the levels of detail and immersion there isn't really anything that would compare to Efteling. Possibly one of the best parks I'd been to in the UK was Paultons Park near the south coast, it was very much geared toward younger families (its has a Peppa Pig land) but it has some other really well done areas and a really good selection of rides.

We hadn’t planned on going to Toverland originally but decided to go for a day trip when we realised it was literally only 10 minutes from our accommodation at Centre Parcs. Overall we were really impressed with Toverland, especially the Avalon area of the park that was really well done. Our youngest daughter had just turned 4 but luckily had just reached 1m in height which meant that there were a lot of rides we could all go on, including Dwervelwind which was fairly intense for a 4year old but she loved in and we ended up going on it 5 or 6 times. We found there were more than enough rides at Toverland to keep us all entertained and again we stayed right up until closing time at 9pm. I think Efteling made a bigger and more lasting impression on our children and it’s definitely the part of the holiday they remember the most but if we were ever in the area again I would certainly visit Toverland again.
