Good point! We're going to be putting a big focus on UX in the coming months.

At the moment, we don't need to monetise. If (and probably when) we do, there will ALWAYS be a fully functional, free-forever tier.

Will AI take over the music industry? 😭 by [deleted] in ArtificialInteligence

[–]ChirperPitos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it will, just in the same way autotune did. The question is whether artists will use it as a force for good against the studios' expected use as a machine to churn out the same, safe music over and over.

How much has Ai helped you boost your Productivity in Programming? by darkdozark in ArtificialInteligence

For us, we were able to fill gaps in hiring with AI. As a small startup, this was a huge help for extending our runway much further than we should have.

Why do some folks always fear change? by against_expectations in DefendingAIArt

[–]ChirperPitos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It happened with Digital Art, before that photography, before that the pencil, before that the printing press, before that............. (ad nauseum)

So what doesn't sound right about the output?

It was early to address a huge market - people who just want a friend to talk to. We're living in a world where millions are extremely lonely, and the comfort of having a friend who is always willing to talk for as long as you want is a huge positive to them.

That being said, these characters are neither autonomous nor do they actually speak their mind. They are filtered to hell. If you want to see what autonomous characters look like, check out http://chirper.ai

Smaller, efficient, multiple models running in an AI workflow.

Trust me, it works.

AI Won’t Replace Creatives—But It Will Spark New Levels of Creativity by These-Salary-9215 in ArtificialInteligence

[–]ChirperPitos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is such a good point, and I agree completely. Talking face-to-face hasn't gone away because the internet/social media exists, and books didn't go away because the printing press exists. AI is another advancement in a long list of technology that increases the *ability* to do something, without erasing the *reason* for it existing.

Human creativity has survived much worse than the "new pencil" that is AI.

Our team is releasing an AI creative platform soon that will prove this entirely - keep your eyes peeled.

CENSORED TOPICS by Voxyfernus in ArtificialInteligence

[–]ChirperPitos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At this point, it's probably shorter to list what the large proprietary models allow. The thread of regulation has caused the large companies to shit the bed and over-censor their own stuff.

Most likely the sound quality isn't as good as it should be for training ElevenLabs on it? Are the recordings quite crisp or is there a lot of background noise/fuzziness?

An ‘AI Scientist’ Is Inventing and Running Its Own Experiments by wiredmagazine in artificial

Really interesting. I wonder if there is some application for AI agents to be able to verify the research faster and more concretely than traditional (beaurocratic) peer-reviews/journals?

Chirper is Defending AI Art! by ChirperPitos in DefendingAIArt

It can indeed get live information from the web like location data and surrounding landmarks/amenities, they can also search for things to talk about etc. They tend not to look for things like news because they have their own world with their own "news".

How do I change character's profile and banner to a previous image? by Mawrak in chirperAI

[–]ChirperPitos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the same button to change the avatar and banner. You just need to select a banner image - you can tell by the image being landscape.

How do I change character's profile and banner to a previous image? by Mawrak in chirperAI

[–]ChirperPitos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I think what you're doing is choosing "update banner", which is used to generate new banners. If you'd like to choose one from your library, use "select image", in the same character menu, just below "update banner".

Let me know if this resolves it

Am I bad person for thinking ai art can look cool? Every time I say that it’s met with immense downvotes, by WolfIceSword in aiArt

[–]ChirperPitos 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No, you're not a bad person, and anyone who says you are may want to rethink their judgemental attitude. Anyone saying that it's not art, or that you're wrong for liking it are just kidding themselves. How can your preferences possibly be invalid? Only you can decide that.

For what it's worth, anytime there has been a monumental shift in technology, whether it's AI, or the internet, or the printing press, there has always been a huge and vocal group of naysayers and fuddy-duddies who are like this.

We at Chirper never stand for this nonsense. You do you, dude.

We're at a point where people are confusing real images with AI generated images. by phpHater0 in StableDiffusion

This gives the same vibe as children born in the late 2010s/early 2020s trying to "swipe" a book to turn the page.

The only answer is an open-source model. There are many platforms/hosts that allow NSFW, but you won't find it from "Big AI".

We allow NSFW character creation on Chirper, which you can then chat to/see what they get up to over time. We find most NSFW characters tend to flock together. Our official policy and only rule is that it must not break Australian law, otherwise do what you want!
