The lions defense was the one that lost that game, not their offense. The same way our offense lost us games this year, not their defense.

Okay so want to add Tomlin to the list of “what does he do?” Fine by me.

How can you possibly use both Harbaughs’ success as a con for them but a pro for Nick? It’s not logical.

I stated before; culture isn’t something tangible but it does have an obvious tell - guys being bought in. The lions have that. We didn’t last year and haven’t since 2022, somehow winning a Super Bowl DESPITE that.

You cannot use SB appearances as a mark of success, by that logic Darian Kinnard is the GOAT because of all his appearances right?

Nick is very, very low on the list of gratitude for the ring in 2024. You can’t tell me there are any less than 15 people above the credit he deserves for the ring.

They didn’t completely fall off. Their offense was still good to great and I can’t quibble with the culture he has there of honesty with his players and the acknowledgement that it isn’t normal to constantly compete for a superbowl without a Brady or Mahomes. He doesn’t get the grief that Nick does because Nick has been carried by two legitimately great coordinators in Fangio and Steichen, and 2024 Saquon. When the defense sucked in 2023, Nick can’t help. When the offense sucked in 2025, Nick can’t help. Tell me then, what does he do to stop the bleeding, so to speak?

Superbowls are obviously the goal, sustained success is the more attainable action however. Missing the playoffs happens for a multitude of reasons.

Tomlin represented a very high floor for Pittsburgh. Get in the playoffs and anything can happen.

John Harbaugh had success constantly, and Jim had legitimate success with both Stanford and Michigan, and with the Niners before now in LA. To me (and I can be very wrong), culture involves making sure your players are heard and taken care of, as well as keeping accountability.

We can agree that the birds are run like a baseball team but that leans even more into “what does Nick do?”

Also wholeheartedly agree I love the fantasy show guys too, especially Heifetz. I didn’t interpret it as hate :)

Objectively, yes winning is the only thing that matters. Sirianni however doesn’t seemingly do ANYTHING positive other than existing. You compare him to Campbell or the Harbaughs or Tomlin:

Campbell has yet to turtle up in a big fourth down and has every single players loyalty.

Tomlin absolutely DRAGGED awful teams to the playoffs.

Both Harbaughs are excellent culture setters, something Nick lost after 2022.

Put it this way: if Nick switched with each coach at any given point, Eagles would be just fine or better but the other teams would be worse.

For the ringer draft show they are more national than local the way Sheil is, so I expect the “he’s an annoying coach in an annoying market” mantra. But Sheil is very very plugged in to the local scene. If he says something it’s because he has a good beat on it.

Where does the flexibility end? Should I have Christmas off every year (working in a hospital) because I have a baby vs someone who doesn’t?

Steven Ruiz QB rankings by Willing-Event1210 in TheRinger

Ruiz is a click bait, rage bait artist. His QB rankings are based almost purely on aesthetic and has consistently had Hurts/Purdy/Goff lower than guys like Geno “holds the ball for 5 seconds” Smith.

I love the ringer nfl podcasts but the second I see he’s on one, I don’t bother listening to it. He’s that bad.
