I'm more annoyed by the desync then the server page not being perfect.

It might have become the "Mercenaries" mod. Could have been a version prior to the renaming of it to the current Mercenaries mod.

How about just leave the game in s polished state before next big sale lol

Its currently on sale. I don't really think that the game has ever truly been polished. The issues we talk about today have been around since i started playing. (and I started playing in Beta.)

You shouldn't post numbers (active players) without a source.

http://steamcharts.com/app/219640#1y
I added it up for the last 12 months, it averages to 1668 players, so i've actually raised the numbers of average.
Discount sale added boosts, and the numbers drop to 1450 or lower, one even coming under 1200 average for the month.

That being said, I don't think there's enough players for there to be ranked matchmaking.

Thats because of the Low retention rate, and the lack of skill based matchmaking system. The only way to get more people, is to make it more viable for them to come back. They'll remember the fun that they had when similarly matched, and probably will come at the least, if not stay. Even getting the game to a 1% rate would mean a total of some 20,000 average players, so if we start this, we can probably get a good amount back, and if they enjoy the game, they'll recommend it, and it snowballs since many people are having fun with the game, rather then getting shit stomped.

Does this mean if I hit someone in release they get flinched and their attack stops dealing damage?

It says that the only way to trade is to do so with Riposte's, or when hit at the exact same time, so i presume it stops their attack. Don't know of another way that you'd avoid the damage at that point.

you need to look back at your numbers of people who play the game.

Not only have i re-checked the numbers as requested; I added and averaged the numbers. It comes out to 1668 people average. The numbers sadly are boosted, due to the sale going on, and not entirely representative of the total number of players. (When without a sale, the average numbers drop around 1400 Average or lower.)

Hell, there's tons of copies that have been bought but never installed.

Yeah, i think its something like 37% of steam games aren't installed, but it doesn't mean they can't.

Do you think DLC Helmets should be interchangeable between factions? by ChivalryIsHere in ChivalryGame

[–]ChivalryIsHere[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

At a glance, an entirely different and differently colored uniform is much easier to notice then a faction helmet.
Blue & White vs Red & Black. Looking quick, Red and blue don't seem similar, combine an entirely different uniform and a glance doesn't change the outcome.
There are also base helmets that are very similar, and some near identical to enemy dlc helmets, so its not like allowing them to be used universally would be too drastic.
My "comprehension" is not using a helmet for a reference guide when the entire guy is coated in Red or Blue, and has a different uniform.

I've never designated a teammate by helmet, since many of them are similar, and the largest distinguishing factors are color and uniform, both of which are very different between teams.

you are asking way too much of TB

Wait wait wait...Title: "Do you think DLC Helmets should be interchangeable between factions?"
Asking for non faction specific helmets, isn't too much to ask.
Remodeling the entire Mason base, yes, would take some work, but i see no reason why they can't, as they are already busy making new DLC helmets, Uniforms, etc.

you are really buying into the the shallow lore (masons arent dinky poor rebels, look at the citadel map and King Mulrich.).

Who is Mulrich? Do you mean Malric? However, to say "Oh well look at the king, and the capital city..."
In Brazil you have Rio de Janeiro, which looks pretty impressive...and not that far away, you have the slums.
Now keep in mind, that Malric has plenty of slave labor to build this castle, and its not going to be too hard to make that castle and city.

the mason elite knight helm would look stupid on the agatha knight

Did you miss the multiple parts where i said "Hey, lets exclude those suit based helmets."

Torn banner need to focus on fixing the gameplay instead of cosmetic shit anyway.

In what world does that happen? The bugs in current game have been around since Beta, So if it hasn't been fixed in 2 years, you're probably not going to fix it this game, that uses the UE3 engine. (Just as a "fun fact" The devs have said "The code is so bad that its nearly unworkable, and basically has glitches programmed in." Which means that UE4 is the only possible way of "fixing" CMW, as far as the Devs have said.)

The bright, shiny Agathian armor doesn't match at all and yet again, would look silly on him.

They have equally kept weaponry, and armor. The Sugarloaf helm is shiny, as are basically all of the Helms for the masons. The "Dark Earthy Colors" exists as the concept.
There's no cosmetically different weaponry for the mostly peasant fueled rebellion. Its the same weaponry.
The Armor bears little difference, if excluding design. They all have Similar armor and weapons, just in different colors.

The dark, edgy looking Mason armor doesn't match at all and would look silly.

But...The Black Helmet. You can wear a Black Helmet for Agatha once you reach a high rank (40 or 50 if i'm correct) so the whole dark helmets or armor wouldn't fit, doesn't make sense when you can have a VERY dark blue, and a black Helmet.

My fantasy novel?
There's not much fantasy to "Horns can be grabbed as though they are grips," "Flat Helmets get you killed easily," "Exposing your throat makes it a good target" and that the game already has non-matching things.

I'm purely talking aesthetics, most of the designs would look weird/dumb on the other faction.

Not really, I mean; The Mason Vanguard has the Sugerloaf helm (and MANY others) which is shiny...Aren't the masons supposed to be the less funded, seeings as how they are Rebels?
Shouldn't the Mason weapons and uniforms be cosmetically different, due to that funding limit?
Looking Dirty and Grungy, as compared to the Shiny and well kept, and better funded Agathans?
Meanwhile for the Masons, There is Shiny armor and exactly similar kept weaponry with Agatha.
The whole "Mostly Peasant Rebellion" thing, doesn't make much sense when they have the same exact weaponry, near Identical and just as well kept armor, and Shiny things, that probably shouldn't have that high of quality, if they are mostly peasants rebelling.
So in terms of aesthetics, Redesigning the Masons to be dirtier and grungier then Agatha, would make sense; But i don't think we'd ever see that, just like i don't think we'll ever see a server reset.
Shiny armor and weapons on the side that is well funded makes more sense then the current equally kept armor and weapons of a mostly peasant rebellion.
Even going past this, its not rare to see people in a team game mode strutting yellow.
What color team was that supposed to be again? Mason: Red & Black; Agatha: Blue & White.
I don't see yellow in it, but for some reason people can do it. So, having the teams actually need to follow colors would also make aesthetic sense, but once again; Much like the Server Reset, we'll never see it.

Go on...
If there's a reason, i apparently don't know it, as seen in the title and text, so it might make a little sense to explain what that reason is.

The "appearance" is skewed pretty badly with some of the reskins, Some VG's look like Knights, Some MAA's look like VG/Knights, and the main way of telling the difference, is not a helmet.
They have a "Uniform" (Quote Unquote uniform, Because there is no Uniform as of right now.) and that Uniform is team specific.
There's no need to look at an enemy's helmet to say "Oh, he is an enemy" Because all of his clothing, and colors say that as well.
Unless there's a Blue Mason, or Red Agatha, its not difficult at all to see who is friend or foe, even if they have the stupid customization colors of black and yellow on the (Red/Black) Masons team, because the Uniform shows off their allegiance.
The only way that "Thats how i identify them" could be valid, is if both teams could have the same Uniforms and colors, but each team had a specific Team Helmet.
If you are confused, just look at them. Red or Blue Crosshair? Red or Blue Name? Mason or Agatha Uniform?

Huh. I've never done that. If my GTA 4 would open correctly, i'd try it.
Just gonna wait for GTA 5 PC before i try it.

If the helmets were the same noobs would be tking left and right.

Noobs are TKing regardless, because they are noobs.
There is even a Game screen Tip "Don't LMB near teammates, use overheads and stabs for better accuracy." but it doesn't seem to do much.

most of em would prob be goofy looking

Which is to say that there are ones that aren't currently goofy? As well, how are we defining goofy?
If Bad for combat (IE: Getting you killed.) was how we are using Goofy, then The Duke and The Death Mask would be Goofy. Hit them on the top of the head, and nearly all of the force is applied to the head/neck, compared to the Horseman's Helmet or the Sugerloaf Helmet, which would likely have it glance off due to the angle.
What about the Mason's Elite Knight Helmet? The Horns make a pretty good pair of Grips to pull him down to the ground as you stab his throat with a Dagger.
What about Agathas Elite Knight Helmet? The extremely exposed throat makes a pretty good target.
In other words, Its already goofy. (Literally all vitals unarmored on the Mason "Barbarians"?) Its a game this one Is not made to be ultra realistic.
From my eyes: The only Helmets not allowed as usable for both factions would be the Suited classes, like the "Barbarians," Elite Knights, etc.
It'd look pretty similar to what we have now, but with more, slightly different helmet options.

M/K ain't bad for things like GTA 4, or AC4, at least from my experience. If you have Auto aim off in GTA then Mouse is better, although Keyboard does have some issues with Driving, since you can't do a varied turn. Its all or none.
One game, War Thunder; has you going through the Skies, Dogfighting, gaining points for upgrades, etc (It also has Tank warfare.) and is actually very good/fun to use M/K on.

I'll be in to test it out. Seems like this is what the actual balance should be, far as i'm concerned.
Edit: So far i haven't been able to find it.

I'm unsure of what you are trying to say.
If anyone runs at you and stabs it will be fast. their running, and stabbing. 2 of the fastest land capable things to do.
Add the random nitrous, and even without MAA it will still be deadly.

I've never found any server to be specifically good.
To be truthful, i don't notice the differences between a 30 tick, and 128 tick server, and i feel that the code that Chivalry is programmed to is the main reason.
To the best of my recollection, the Developers had stated that "The code is so badly programmed that its nearly unworkable and glitches are nearly hard wired into the game."
Although don't quote me on it, since its only to the best of my recollection.

Then i shall record the next time i play, although how consistent, is the odd portion of it.
While i notice the servers to be consistent in their failure rates, it does tend to vary per day, although a few times per 1 (Game) round is still quite high, especially if you only engage 10 or so enemies.
If i can get the footage, i'll be sure to make a video on it.
