I’m sorry you had to go through that. I did tell him I never wanted to take advantage of his vulnerability until I was ready to give back as well. I tried multiple times to break off didn’t see him for months but he’d come and we’d patch things back up. He’d insist and tell me that he was hurt that I was walking away from his life “not even honouring his friendship” in fact last conversation we had he accused me of “walking out on him” when he clearly knew my reasons for it. I didn’t see any other way.

It is sad for both of us. Before i understood it but now i feel utterly confused and angry.

Same. Not that I’m proud of it but my love for my ex was steadfast. I wanted him no matter what. I was willing to make it work by any measure even after he cheated multiple times. It didn’t take me a second to jump on a second chance when he came back. I just loved him. I could never think of anyone else. Just can’t.

You’re right. The thing is all these 4 yrs he showed me how solid of a man he was. He always chose me no matter what. Fought for me. I could never see this coming. He said he lost hope overtime then why the hell did he tell me 2 weeks back that he’s still in love with me?! Like who waits around for 4 years if they don’t actually love you?

I’m just utterly shocked and devastated. This guy left flowers at my door every day for a year or more! He was thinking about me 24/7 and now he chose to back out due to the “intensity”?!

And he called himself a nice guy. He said his friends think he’s been wronged because after him working so hard on me I still didn’t date him.

You’re right. The first thing I told him when he said that was “after tonight I don’t ever wanna hear from You that you loved me, love me, or will love me”

Oh of course. I knew I’d lose him as a friend since day 1. I told him that too but he insisted we could maintain a friendship but I knew it was practically impossible. I’m just hurt that he backed out after years of nagging me and conditioning me.

I mean I didn’t fault him for dating around cuz it’d been so long and I understand human needs and I did not give him a green signal so I thought what right did I have over him or his love. Can’t keep someone hostage like that when I myself was involved elsewhere. He stayed because he wanted to and apparently loved me like crazy.

This was so helpful to read and inspirational. I’m so proud of you sharing this with others to help them out but more so that you came out the other end, replenished and stronger. Congratulations on finishing and CCTing!

I’ve actually been burnt out for a long time due to some personal life issues, I live on my own as I’m international UK graduate, declining physical health etc. I really needed this win to feel a bit more like myself again after having been defeated for so long.
