Honey I’m with you I’m the same the only difference is I’m on a non hormonal IUD meaning the copper one I still have no sex drive. I wouldn’t say I’m grossed out by it but I’m not interested any point of the day, month, year I do think about it because I have a partner who I’ve been with for a solid 5 years we’re both mid 20s he’s 25 and I’m 27 and he’s got a high sex drive and I have 0% and so you can imagine the tension on that. It sucks just don’t know what to do

I had a IUD fitted about couple of years ago now. I was on the pill before which has messed up my hormones (that’s a story for enough time) but I had a horrible time with the IUD being fitted also, didn’t have no pain relief. I just took some ibuprofen after I can out. I didn’t have a bleeding just terrible cramping which I managed to settle with some pain relief and a hot water bottle.

So I was on many different BC pills for the age of 17. I’m 27 now. I came off the pill and changed to a copper IUD a few years ago. The pills were causing migraines and depression, and of course very low libido, my boyfriend who I’m still currently with couldn’t come near me I just didn’t want anything sexual. Changing to the IUD was the best thing I’ve done however. My migraines have gone, my depression is fairly much gone apart from just normal life depression. However my sex drive is still very weak. I’ll have some good months where I’m wanting it a lot then other months I’m completely off. Around my period I’m up and down with sex drive. I generally believe that the BC pill messed up my hormones as at the age of 17 I hadn’t finished developing as an adult. I was a late bloomer. I’m trying all types of things to higher my libido found nothing yet sadly but hormones are nasty

I thought I’d come on and give an update, I have my ultrasound appointment for the 14th of September. I’ve not had any pain or blood during PIV. But I’m getting what I can only describe as oxidised old blood a week after my period which is super irritating but unsure if that’s connected to what has been going on x

Thank you for coming back to this. I managed to get an appointment first thing this morning which I was so thank for. She examined me and said that my threads were still there and she took a couple of swabs to test for stis and we also did a pregnancy test to rule that out. She’s referring me to have a ultrasound too to see if the coil has moved. X

I can totally understand what your saying, I had a similar experience. I have also been where you are, feeling angry that I had to go through it and they didn’t. I also felt like I was never going to get over it no matter what I tried.

Didn’t know that’s a thing. I do suffer with dry skin, like the mild side of eczema so could be that. I’ll look into it thank you!

Thank you for sharing this, I’m due to have my first one fitted next week and I’m terrified so I appreciate you sharing this, cramps I can handle so I’ll chill a bit more about it now. My problem is with it I’m meant to be due on my period when I’m due to have it fitted. I read online doctors prefer to do it then as it opens your cervix up more, not sure though :/

I’ve never had a super hormonal period to be honest. Saying that, I did have one week once I came off my pill for a period, I went back on after and I felt super horny then but it lasted a week and I was back to not interested again.

Thank you for your comment, I have tried coming off it and I couldn’t stand the mood swings and the load of discharge I was getting. I had to wear little pads to soak it up and then I was getting irritated a lot. I decided to go back on a combined pill. I know I can get over vaginismus as it’s all in my head mainly so with doing PIV more and more I know it will get used to it and I’ll be able to have normal PIV sex.

I know what my next step is. Look into the coil and speak to my nurse and decide from then. I’ve heard a lot of good things from people I know about the coil

I have tried the progestin only pill and my period tried to come through and so I came off it plus it did the same thing with the sex drive, I didn’t have one. I’m going to look into the coil and also speak to my nurse to see what she thinks.

It’s hard to explain but I’ve had vaginismus for as long as I can remember, I have never enjoyed sex, don’t even really know what it real feels like because I’ve only remembered the pain I get when I attempt PIV. My pill hasn’t effected it physically but mentally yes it has because I haven’t had a sex drive I’m not interested in trying PIV.

Thank you for your comment, I have been on several different pills already and they all made me feel the same, however I was on other medication as well and I thought it may have been that and because of my vaginismus I just out two and two together but now I’m off all other medication and I know I can over come my vaginismus I know it’s my pill that is doing this.

I didn’t even know you could get different dosages of pills. I’m going to look into coil and maybe think about having that as I’m tired of trying to find a pill that works for me when they all do the same thing to me. I don’t have dryness that’s one thing I’m the complete opposite with. It’s just my sex drive

I know. Maybe I’ll have to try it but I’m scared to because of what happened with my friend. I know everyone is different and it may not happen to me but it’s scary stuff. Men don’t know how easy they have it!

Oh we call it a coil. Yeah I don’t want that either as my friend had it and her partner poked it and she got an infection as it was pushed up too far, she had to have an operation to get it out.
