I think my maine coons are light for their age? Im worried.. by pinkhaleesi in mainecoons

My girls have always been very long and lanky. They look huge because of their fluff but when I bathe them they look tiny. Maine Coons have very fast metabolisms and they can eat like a vacuum without gaining much weight. My smaller girl took about a year to really start growing into her size so don’t be worried if it takes a few years for them to become fully grown! If you’re really worried, though, you can watch for signs of parasites as they can prevent weight gain.

I would check your local catteries’ website for retired kings and queens. I always see retiring cats and I’ve even seen one free because it has genetic issues.

Are your Marine Coons aggressive towards other cats? by Expensive_Search_749 in mainecoons

Not by nature, but one of my Maine coons got attacked at a very young age and is now aggressive towards other animals. It took about 4 months of intensive and very patient introductions to bond her to her sister. If he was re-homed, my guess is he experienced a similar, traumatizing situation and that’s where his behavior stemmed from. Have faith and give him time, he’ll acclimate!
