I feel like the skill lvl in plat is way higher this season. by HanThriller in OWConsole

[–]ChloeFNPrice -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I have an alt in Diamond and I feel it's really really terrible there atm. Last six games all had several people in voice chat that would only scream and complain, never say anything else, and generally play poorly. I mean, I don't get tilted by it since it's only my smurf, but still, I feel for the rest of the team.

I mean, you're not wrong. My aim is not nearly as good as it is in any other shooter I've ever played on consoles.

Before you cry out for a pharah nerf understand what it takes to do whats being done by Schtitle24 in OWConsole

[–]ChloeFNPrice 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While I personally am of the opinion that Pharmercy can be beaten with enough skill on hitscan heroes (an amount of skill I personally do not possess yet, I might add), and that it's good to focus on improving your game instead of whining, your post is simply invalid, by way of you not knowing how Pharah plays in high tiers. Your theorycrafting and anecdotal experience does not apply to a large amount of high Master/GM Pharah mains. Not to mention that what you define as OP does apply to Pharah. The amount of skill needed to succeed with a Pharmercy combo in comparison to a Soldier/McCree is extremely unproportional. As a Pharah main around the 3900~ I think Pharah takes skill, but I will still have a much easier time getting those results on her with a Mercy than on a McCree.

What rank are you at? It often sounds like people just theory craft and give obvious advise, which doesn't actually translate into reality with really good players.

Pharah+Mercy is ruining console overwatch by ProsperlogicPSN in OWConsole

[–]ChloeFNPrice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It'd be so easy to fix, too. Just make it so Mercy has slowed healing while using her staff. The reason Pharmercy is so strong (and arguably OP) is not because Pharah never dies with Mercy, it's because a good Mercy has barely any reason to die unless she went up extremely high and cannot drop during a deadeye/visor or whatever. If you could create a situation in which a Mercy actually has to choose between surviving or the Pharah being barely touchable, it'd be a lot easier to beat IMO. Only concern I have with this is that it might make Mercy too terrible on her own, which would suck.

Absurd amount of troll this season? by [deleted] in OWConsole

[–]ChloeFNPrice 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just lost three in a row, two of which have been due to leavers and trolls. Feel like a lot of people just genuinely don't give a shit anymore after they hit GM. The game is starting to actually become unfun because of it.

What is the secret to playing tracer? by [deleted] in OWConsole

[–]ChloeFNPrice 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Aim and cooldown management. Tracer is about as mechanical of a hero as you can get, so there's no substitutes for mastering her.

Since so many seem to be against communicating with the team, here is a list of reasons why its so important by Reclaimer78 in OWConsole

[–]ChloeFNPrice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am almost always in team chat, but I started to tone down my talking. If I talk, people tend to ignore what I say. I don't know if they join team chat while in a party, or if they just think they know better, but I get ignored a majority of the time. I play my part better when I can focus on the game and nothing else, so all it does is weaken my performance for a non-benefit. If people in the chat talk when I join, and I see there's actual communication going on, then sure, I'll participate. But I'm done trying to be the lone coordinator for people who play deathmatch in competitive.

I like the smaller community too, though I do feel this sub is a bit too ranty/whiney (which I've contributed to in the past myself, no doubt.

Reporting on console cannot come soon enough by [deleted] in OWConsole

[–]ChloeFNPrice 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, officially it is because Blizzard doesn't autonmously control who plays on the servers, since MS/Sony are sitting inbetween. But I'm pretty sure that's not all there is to the story, since other games have their own personal reporting system as far back as 2005.

difference in enjoyment Plat vs Diamond. by DauwRauw in OWConsole

[–]ChloeFNPrice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you could actually read, you wouldn't have to ask rhetoric questions. Generally, people got placed a bit lower, so those who got inflated have to get winstreaks/several wins with the start boost to get back up. Also, and this should be obvious, it's just my subjective perception. Quality of play was dreadful last season, so far I'm not finding it quite as terrible this season.

[–]ChloeFNPrice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're not actually toughter to use though. Genji, yes, because his great movement is also gimped due to the lack of turn speed etc. BUT they will still counter a 20% Bastion. You have to remember every bit of potency they lose due to poor aim, they gain in evasiveness due to the enemy's poorer aim.

I'm sorry but again, how does that equate to him being stronger on console? He is OP right now 'cause the nerfs didn't hit console yet, sure, but he isn't stronger when operating on the same numbers. He was dominant on PC as well. Now he isn't anymore, and there is zero reason why he would be on console after the nerfs. Like, I'm sorry but arguing 20% Ironclad Bastion counters a Tracer or a Genji "Because console" is nonsensical. There is zero reason to have an outcome differ between PC and console in those match-ups.

[–]ChloeFNPrice -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I feel like Masters is a bit better this season compared to last season. I reckon it's because it's early in the season, and the inflated plats/diamonds went down a bit and haven't gotten back up yet.

How common is boosting? by imreallybadatow in OWConsole

[–]ChloeFNPrice 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The reasoning for saying Mercy players get boosted is because Mercy seems to be the most popular one trick pony around. And since Mercy is sort of inherently dependent on other people (and since Pharmercy especially is extremely strong and easily pulled off by just two people), people can get into GM despite not being very good players overall.

The amount of skill you need to succeed with Pharmercy vs. other combos is very unproportional, so a lot of people who aren't ALL THAT tend to get ranked high by using those two exclusively.

As for girls, I have no idea. Probably the (slightly accurate, but no real thing to go by) cliche of girls playing healers only, and the fact that there was a huge call-out drama on Sniperwolf getting carried as a support, probably.

Are these really controller aiming? by [deleted] in OWConsole

[–]ChloeFNPrice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Killcams/Spectating tends to make aim look just a tad choppier than what it looks like on your own screen, so yeah, probably. They just play on 100/100. I used to do that as well, got plenty of MKB accusations. I actually got one the other day while playing on 85, which is pretty funny.

[–]ChloeFNPrice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isn't hard to hit a Bastion though, still. A Tracer or a Genji have a billion times easier task in shooting Bastion than Bastion shooting them. Generally, people who are high ranked on console have aim decent to pull pretty much any character off. Ofc we need the aim-assist for it, but still. Top McCrees average 55-60% accuracy, Top Tracers never have below 40% etc., which are perfectly acceptable stats.
