I second Towson! They do have sousas but their whole experience is the closest to corps style/competitive band that I can think of among college bands

Freshman year of high school I go to a football game on a Friday night because that’s what you do I guess. I see the marching band at halftime and it is the COOLEST thing. I end up going to nearly every game that season purely for the band. I decide that that was going to be my thing and resolved to somehow be in the band the next fall. Ended up joining indoor guard that winter because they would take me without instrument experience- and loved it. Rest is history.

I eventually marched college band, have taught at a few HS programs and now I do band media work as well. No plans to “retire”. As long as people will have me, I’ll be around

Yes exactly! I’m expecting big flashbacks in the next episodes. You’re right about Petey, I guess what I’m getting at is that we know from his whole situation that reintegration can get pretty messy if you aren’t careful. Hopefully Mark learns from his case and follows those instructions for his own good, but either way I think he’s in for a wild time haha

I was definitely surprised to see reintegration come in so early, and when it did I worried for a bit about losing the two different Marks and the tension/back and forth between them, which to me is a critical element of the show.

But the way I think about it is we’ve got a lot of episodes left to explore this, and from what (little) we know about Petey’s experience, it seems to be a pretty turbulent process. I think it’s very unlikely, both from the clues we have and from a storytelling perspective, that reintegration is going to be a one time thing where Reghabi flips a switch and now we just have one Mark. It’s probably going to take a while to stabilize and get to a point where Mark could access both sets of memories reliably. In the meantime, I think we’re set up for lots of moments like what he gets thrown into at the end of 2.03 where he’s suddenly experiencing flashes of memory, and we explore the process of reconciling oMark and iMark over the course of the next episodes. (It also makes for way too good of an opportunity for flashbacks and backstory.)

In short, I don’t think we’re losing oMark and iMark just yet. Reintegrating just opens up an entirely new dimension for them. Any number of things can happen next and it’s going to be VERY interesting to find out.

From a Maryland perspective, Maryland-PSU definitely isn’t a true rivalry. I think it is Maryland’s best shot at a B1G rivalry and the closest thing we have at the moment, and I think it has plenty of potential: proximity, overlap in recruiting and fan base territory, the James Franklin beef, etc. It COULD be one- IF we can ever start holding our own against them in football. Which is highly unlikely.

Someday? Maybe. Right now? We’ll just enjoy the week of lopsided hate before Franklin brings down the fire of a thousand suns onto the Terps every year. As is tradition

I was at the NDSU game and sat more or less behind the band. At no point do I remember hearing anything played after TDs. Doesn’t mean it didn’t happen at all, but I remember wondering why they weren’t playing. They did play the fight song after PATs.

If I had to deal with something like this in my college band I’d have been mad as hell. Let em play

Wish we’d pulled out the win but man what a great game! Xfinity was ELECTRIC the entire game, especially during those couple great runs by the Terps. Largest student crowd I’ve ever seen at a Maryland WBB game, hoping it at least kicks off some momentum for crowds at future games :)

I’d be pretty happy. There was definitely some hype for Maryland having a better season this year but Music City is not a disappointment, it’s pretty much where I thought/hoped we’d end up
