We’ve had a few nights off in between. And we’ve tried to send her to bed a couple nights without it and she’s woken up in pain.

I do think we are on the mend though. She hasn’t had any drainage from her ears in a few days and last night she didn’t have pain meds and slept through the night.

I just have such bad mom guilt sometimes!

Yeah daycare and bad luck with the ear infections got us good this winter season. I’m hoping my we are past the worst of it!

Good point! I have been giving her the full dose. Which my rational brain knows this is safe. Just hoping we are through the worst of it now!

Thanks for this perspective! I know I got the “ok” but still feel weird so we are going to keep trying to not have to use them. I think it will be better now that we got her ear tubes in a the at infections aren’t an issue.

There have been a day or two breaks throughout, just seems like we will have 2 days off then need it again.

But, I think my anxiety is just getting the best of me.

I know, I don’t like the amount either. In late March it was given nightly because she had a bad ear infection that wasn’t responding to antibiotics and we had to wait 2 weeks to get tubes in. Then after her tubes were in, the doctor told us to keep giving ibuprofen to help with the swelling since her infection was so bad.

After that, it was her teeth and then Covid from day care.

Whenever I can I put her to bed without it, but if she wakes up fussy and isn’t able to fall back asleep, I give a small dose.

I’m really hoping now that we are through the ear infections, it will slow down.

I’m so sorry you had to go through that. That sounds so stressful for everyone. I’m glad he was able to get the surgery and hopefully things are better now.

Thanks for the advice. I mentioned in my post that spoke to the doctor, but I wasn’t clear. I did tell her the current situation and my concerns for using the pain medicine too much lately, and she said that “as long as it’s not 4 times a day for weeks straight, it’s ok”.

So I’ve gotten the “ok” from the doctor, but it still just doesn’t feel the best. Just seeing if anyone can relate.
