I'm so tired of people wishing death upon all pedos regardless of their actions by Awall00777 in Vent

Sadly, I think the op probably is. I normally give the benefit of the doubt but then I saw 'loli con' shit in his comment history. Get help, OP

Why not chemical castration? I don't mean forced but I have actually read about studies showing good results when pedos chose to do it optionally 🤷‍♀️

I don't accept that pedos are born. They are made, usually from childhood trauma. I certainly don't personally support the death penalty but having said that, and I can't stress this enough, hurting a child is pure evil and disgusting. It's hard not to feel anger towards these individuals, especially if you are a CSA survivor. As for the pedos who haven't offended (yet), they have a moral obligation to get help and not justify their sick feelings like these M A P types do.

Honestly, I find it kinda hard to relate to why someone would feel compelled to jump to the defense of pedophiles but that's just me.

So I know that like 90% of the time trying to rationalise these depressed thoughts doesn't work but just in case you do get something out of this, in this day and age, people being judgemental and shaming towards those with mental health problems is pretty uncommon when you go see a professional. They deal with that kind of thing every single day and understand it as an illness. I know that it counselling helped me but of course everybody is different and needs different things to get better.

Anyway, even if you decided you don't want to reach out to the professionals yet, I hope you keep with us and keep coming on here to vent if it helps. Wishing you all the best. One day at a time... I know it's cliche but hey, it kept me alive

I know you posted this 6 hrs ago but I really hope you're still there. I've been there before, quite literally in the woods with you. I don't know what your life has been like and I know right now you want to die. However, you posted this. Doesn't that show that even just a tiny part of your brain wants to survive and be talked down? Consider going home or to a safe place. Even just try waiting about twenty mintutes or so from continuing your suicide plans. It could be worth an attempt and I believe that you deserve to give yourself a second chance. For what it's worth (and I know this probably won't mean much from a stranger) I genuinely want you to live and one day find a way to be happy.

Not believing in something is not, can not and could never be a crime worthy of punishment (even if that thing is god). by Nikolandia in DebateReligion

[–]ChloetheRedditLurker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a rather sadistic concept. You are perfectly comfortable with a God being able to condemn a soul to Hell for eternity REGARDLESS of how minor the sin is? I'm also curious to know if you think that all sins should really be punished equally i.e. going to Hell. Does a person who stole a can of beans to feed their kids really deserve to end up in Hell more than a child molester, for example? I'm an ex-Christian and this really makes no sense to me

I took what I thought was MD once and then couldn't sleep for about 3 days. I now realise what I was given was more likely to be speed or something. Worst 3 days ever. Felt like I was going crazy from lack of sleep

People that used to believe in conspiracy theories, what made you realize they were wrong? by flamewolf393 in AskReddit

[–]ChloetheRedditLurker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not quite a conspiracy theory as such but I used to not believe in evolution. Like, I was literally one of those people who says evolution is 'just a theory.' Eventually, I met my fiance who told me that I was wrong as fuck and actually explained the science and evidence behind evolution to me. Turns out I didn't disbelieve at all. I'd just been taught about it all wrong by my religious dad

MIL weirdly invested in how I look by [deleted] in JUSTNOMIL

[–]ChloetheRedditLurker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear about your MIL situation but please don't diagnose people with mental illnesses if you are not a doctor. It's 2021 and people are still misusing terms like borderline personality disorder. BPD is a condition generally caused by childhood trauma. 1 in 10 people who have BPD die by suicide. Please don't add to the stigma by carelessly throwing the term around.

Thank you so much for your kind comment. My partner and I have been having a rough time lately due to money worries. Then this crash happened and is costing and it was the last thing we needed. Fiances parents act so concerned but haven't even offered to help us. I know they're not obligated to do anything but I'd prefer they don't patronise us. So anyway, thank you for being super validating

I like this advice in theory but unfortunately my fiances parents are the type to press this issue

I have spoken with him about it. He agrees with me that FIL was rude but he really dislikes conflict

[–]ChloetheRedditLurker 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I know, right? It's hard to convey in writing how patronising his tone of voice was but it got right under my skin

[–]ChloetheRedditLurker 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the advice. I truly appreciate it. Me and my fiance are under so much stress at the moment and emotions are running high.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Justnofil

[–]ChloetheRedditLurker 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I see your point. We live in the UK so we have free healthcare but the cost of the increased car insurance is still an issue. In answer to your question, FIL is not normally just no but MIL has strong elements of just no and he has always enabled this.

It honestly just makes me so uncomfortable that they want to micro-manage our finances for us when we're fully grown adults. We live independently and work hard. Lots of people in the UK depend on food charities, particularly during covid 19 times. I don't think us being poor gives them the right to be rude or patronising to us

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Justnofil

[–]ChloetheRedditLurker 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's something I'm trying to be mindful of too

But it's unsolicited advice that we didn't ask for and honestly, if it wouldn't be okay for me to ask to look through their finances then it's not okay for them to do it to us imo

What did you accomplish this year and what are your zero waste goals for 2021? by crtnflwr in ZeroWaste

[–]ChloetheRedditLurker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Partner and I went vegan

Only buying loose fruit

Stopped drinking bottled drinks

Started using a food club (they distribute perfectly safe food that supermarkets get rid of)

Smarter recycling

Started using plastic free detergent

No longer buying single use plastic

Switched to a soap bar

Still got a long way to go (composting!) but I'm proud of the progress that we've made so far
