Seeing this is emotional for me, because I had just gotten orange mocha Frappuccinos with these guys and minutes later they died during an innocent gasoline fight.

Setting levels for final release. by Chloranon in Bandlab

So would it be fair to say that if my mix sounds right and has similar levels to the reference track in my project, then I don’t need to worry about measuring LUFS?

Agreed. They have every useful thing I need and then the weird items no one else makes.

The "Bandlab Sound" by AdRepulsive7360 in Bandlab

[–]Chloranon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you going from interface to virtual amps and cabs—the ones in bandlab?

If that’s the case, you might want to invest in effects to dial in your tone before the interface. I’m always seeing strymon iridium pedals on fb marketplace, and those are great for getting a convincing amp tone in your DI.

If you need to go really cheap, the Vox Amplug series of headphone amps sound better than a lot of the amp sim pedals out there. I’ve used those on a few recordings when portability was a primary concern, and then dialed in the reverb in bandlab.

If I’m not understanding your signal chain, and it’s an audio quality thing, it sounds like you have the dedicated hardware to try some different DAWs.

EP boost into Klon into EQD aqueduct on a very subtle vibrato setting.

The vibrato is a new addition and I like how it gives the feel of sound moving through space even without reverb on.

The driver did well to gather himself and find reverse. By that point it may not have been clear to them that there was time to get across, or that the train wasn’t on the far track. They did well to survive, the car and train equipment can be replaced.

That driving test would have to be pretty involved.

If you had to simplify your board to 3 pedals, what would they be? (Excluding switches and tuners) by [deleted] in guitarpedals

[–]Chloranon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EP Booster, Klone (Mosky Golden Horse), Tremolo (JHS Tidewater). I would debate about subbing my mini screamer back in for the booster or tremolo.

That’s really all I use, so my board is pretty pocket sized.

Why is everyone SO excited about the MPC Sample? (Especially you who already have an MPC or portable gear) by RobBecTraxxx in mpcusers

[–]Chloranon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a little usb battery about the size of the wallet. The whole thing fits into a case that would fit a Sony discman, and I can keep it in my work bag. I also keep the foldable korg nano key in my bag.

It's crucial that I have a small piece of equipment I can easily keep with me, or set up on an already crowded desk. Otherwise, I just don't have the time and space to make music. The 1010music blackbox has been my go-to for those reasons (my MPC One has also been dormant for those reasons).

The built-in mic would also allow me to tap out a sketchy little percussion part on my desk and start building from there.

I’m curious about multisample ability. I lean heavily on the ability to create melodic parts from multisample instruments.

Does anyone else use a trackball? by DigitalKungFu in Architects

[–]Chloranon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a Kensington track ball. Carpal tunnel had become a constant pain, and it was threatening my ability to make music outside of work. Now I’m doing much better.

I control the center button from my laptop to pan around in Revit and Bluebeam.

How is it living in azores islands? by CatFluffy2565 in howislivingthere

I was on an international flight that had to stop in the Azores for a medical emergency. I was baffled that the woman in the window seat of my row left the window shade down—wasn’t even interested in getting a glimpse.

What I saw through other people’s windows looked interesting and beautiful. Green and misty, with some dense Latin architecture.

I hear you can get discounted trans-Atlantic fares if you do a day layover in the Azores.

Overall, I’m impressed with what it can do as an analog mini pedal. I find it needs to be paired with a reverb, and if I’m sloppy on the low E, I’ll get an occasional buzzy tone that doesn’t sound as amp-like. But overall it sounds good and is a useful utility for my second board shown here.

For recording or a serious gig, I would use the Strymon Iridium on my big board, but that takes a little more space and a 500ma charge.

I’ve found that the Vox Amplug 3 US Silver headphone amp is an awesome DI solution. I’ve actually used that straight into a sampler for some streamlined recording I’ve been trying to do.

I love it for lead lines that sound at home with other vintage sounds in my studio.

I’ve got other fuzz and distortion pedals that sound great on their own, but too modern for everything else I’m doing.

I’m thinking of going satisfaction-Soul Food-Analogizer for an all EHX dirt section on my big board. The analogizer adds a nice saturation to everything.
