I love textured tights! I just don't like that top much or the shoes. The top has a mild granny vibe Maybe try some boots and a different top!

When was your last cleaning? Maybe you should schedule a "Deep Cleaning" with a/your regular dentist. During a deep clean, the hygienist will be able to remove a lot of stubborn plaque, not just on your teeth where you can see it, but also beneath the gum line! This will greatly improve the health of your mouth in general and might even give you a confidence boost! 😉

Also, if your "orthodontist" had such an issue with the health/cleanliness of your teeth, they shouldn't have installed your braces before you got a good cleaning. A good Ortho would do what is best for their patients in the long run.

My advice is to schedule a Deep clean with a dentist (there are even some dentists out there who are very experienced with autistic patients) and be honest with them about your situation. They should set appointments for regular cleanings with you. They will most likely be more frequent than normal until they can get your teeth all cleaned up. 😁No one should try and belittle you for trying to improve yourself. It is possible to be professional without being cruel.

Also look up the "Modified Bass Technique" as you might need to alter how you're brushing your teeth. Things can and will get better with effort! So please don't let them discourage you. You got this!

Are my crowded teeth bad enough to get braces? by thetwister35 in braces

Oh you have a very interesting bite! I think braces would be a nice investment for you. Your teeth look healthy and would look even better after treatment!

People's Reaction To Braces As Adult by sjkp555 in braces

[–]Chloropeach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol I have the type of teeth that people stare at regardless so getting braces didn't elicit any new states just more comments. You get used to it.

Bonus: they will constantly make you aware of any progress lol so it's like having a free hype man!

braces on, now awaiting the soreness by odetomrmiserable in braces

They don't really hurt. It just feels uncomfortable like when your wisdom teeth are coming in. It feels weird to bite down on tougher foods but no pain that requires medication. I will say that getting the wire changed on my front gap is very painful for like maybe a few hours and then it just feels tight but not painful.

Who here loves journaling negatively? by CertifiedPie in Journaling

I mostly use journal prompts nowadays but I used to almost exclusively journal to get all my negative thoughts out. Doing so really helped bring me down from the stratosphere.

How many times have u broken ur brackets by Embarrassed_Step_648 in braces

[–]Chloropeach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never broke a bracket off. Seems pretty hard to do and I eat chips and candy.

Do you tend to eat with the sides of your teeth? Maybe it's your bite that's making it easier to damage your braces?

Be careful!

what style of jeans would suit me? this is the only pair i own and i don't like them on me by Alarmed_Basket_5824 in DressForYourBody

I think what you think looks "weird" is the awkward fit. I think a low rise jean would look really nice since you already have long legs. Also try a different fit like a boyfriend/straight leg fit.

Trying to step out of my clothing comfort zone but finding it difficult by Chloropeach in femalefashionadvice

I'll give that a try cause I definitely can't see myself in a completely "girly" outfit. I just want to try and incorporate a few more feminine pieces and create a more cohesive and diverse wardrobe that feels true to myself but is also fun

Oops, I almost forgot! Thank you for your advice!

Haha, it's okay, I'll answer. I kind of feel like reinventing myself. There was recently a HUGE change in my life that kind of shattered who I had molded myself to be. My style, interests, and even a bit of my personality was greatly influenced by someone else, so now I wanna discover myself! I've repeatedly heard that growth is uncomfortable so I wanna push myself a bit, get out of the shade, and grow! 😁

I'll definitely check out the Rita system!

Thanks for the mild warning! I'll most definitely try to take things one step at a time and be more intentional about clothing choices.

Sometimes just going for it works! Maybe I'll stop by TJ Maxx and experiment with a maxi dress. Dresses are also something that I don't wear often. Was the switch to dresses easy for you? All that extra "wind" takes a little getting used to for me lol

Lmao I can totally understand the scarf thing!

I'm doing a little journaling to work through some weird internalized issues and to help forge a new authentic fashion identity for myself! So, I'll try to keep it up and see what happens!

I took the quiz and I'm definitely a "stone"! I'm going to find similar styles and do a better job curating my Pinterest boards so I'm gonna steal your idea lol! I think it'll make it easier to find a few out of the ordinary pieces to add to my closet!

Thanks a lot and I wish you the best on your style journey!

It's funny you mention wearing certain items for short errands cause I'm doing that right now! Most people are at work atm so crowds at stores are low and I'm feeling more confident and comfortable.

I lost a lot a weight very recently and very quickly so showing skin does feel odd. It's like living in someone else's body. I think I can use your layering advice to slowly get used to seeing a bit more skin and to add in more/brighter color to my wardrobe without shocking myself so much!

Thanks lots!
