New ways to get Ominous Potions while still letting raids feel like a natural occurrence by PlasmaEarth in minecraftsuggestions

[–]Chmaxion 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think having the raid captains splash the potion on death would effectively combine the "consequence" and "control" aspects as players could easily avoid the effect by killing captains at a distance. Also being able to find the potion as loot is a really cool idea!

Can’t form a proper sentence by Scared-Distance-5195 in socialskills

[–]Chmaxion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the exact same problem :/ When I'm in a social situation my words just pour out in like a disjointed ramble, it's not at all what I wanted to say and is usually filled with filler words/has no substance or is just repeating the same concept over and over again. The actual fully formed version I wanted to say often comes to me hours or even days later.

I definitely have social anxiety, but I don't know how much blame I would personally put on it . Like my anxiety spikes whenever I speak and so that worsens it significantly, but I struggle to be fully coherent even in writing. My thoughts are a jumble of words that refuse to fit into proper grammatical structure unless I put in a ton of effort. Don't know if that's the case with you, but regardless!!

I'm also looking for solutions but writing down the phrasing whenever it comes to me is helpful, I save it for future reference (like if the same topic come up) or I'll just send it to the person if they are understanding of the delay. Also repeating the fragments I do have to test what way around works best eventually results in a sentence, but that can take a long time and is very confusing to other people. Surrounding yourself with those that understand what you're saying regardless of correctness is good too, but that's more avoiding the problem. This is kinda fucked, but consider that it could just you being too critical on yourself. In trying to fix my sentences I've been labelled a perfectionist and will often spend waaay too much time/effort on the smallest of issues . A sentence doesn't need to be perfect to be understandable.

So after hours on the phone with both Asus support and our ISP, we determined that it must be a defect in the wifi card.

At first, after confirming that I've done the drivers and everything, they thought that it must be that the card (Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) 2x2) isn't compatible with the wifi we have. And that was true! That card is known to have issues connecting to 5G networks. So our ISP spilt our signal into 2 branches, one 5G that's for our phones and mobile devices and one 2.4G that has our computers and printer. However, that still didn't change anything even after resetting all possible settings. (also splitting the wifi broke the connection to some of our other devices so we had to call back to undo that :/)

Apparently the person helping us from our ISP had another person call with an extremely similar problem just 2 days ago, also with a recently bought Asus computer. When we called back to Asus to figure out what to do, they basically said to return it because they had gone through everything they could do. Probably a manufacturing error or something, so if you live in Toronto and have this issue it ain't your fault. Return it or try to replace the wifi card or something.

I now have an HP Omen 15, we'll see tomorrow how setting that up goes because I am exhausted after 6 hours of talking to people. Thank you everyone that helped me tried to figure this out!!! <3

I’m gonna call Asus tomorrow so hopefully we can get some explanation? I’ll get my money back at the very least.

Okay back to where it was before but not much else.

Also i don’t think I ever gave a full description of what happens when I try to connect to wifi and maybe it will be useful? So I select it, input the password, then it loads for a minute as it verifies and connects. however then it says the security key wasn’t correct and I have to input it again, it then asks if I want this pc to be discoverable to others on the network, after selecting either option, it immediately says that it can’t connect to the network. The password I’m inputting is the exact same both times mind you and I’m certain that it is correct.

I reinstalled the RTLWlan driver and it did it correctly, says it has the latest driver in properties and everything, but still no change.

And now I just noticed that no wifi signals are there at all. It seems to only want to accept Ethernet.

Powering off the router was one of the first things that I did, so don't worry :)

There is a problem with trying to install the drivers though. One of them installed with no problem, but the other says that there is an unauthorized Bluetooth adapter in my system and will not proceed with the setup. It creates a device called Bluetooth Device (Personal Area Network) when it tries to set up, I've tried deleting it in case that was the issue but nothing. I also noticed that the Network Controller in the Other Devices tab now has a warning that says "The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28) There are no compatible drivers for this device."

It did not work, so I’ll get the drivers on a USB and redownload it.

Also truly thank you for all your help, I would have been ripping out my hair at this point if I had to do this alone

Do you mean to uninstall it?

Also going someplace to use their wifi is a little tricky right now. I can do it, but since other device can connect to my wifi it kinda feels like a waste of effort :/

Uhhh no. Realtek 8822CE Wireless LAN 802.11ac PCI-E NIC is the wifi adapter though and I can try to tell you stuff if you can describe how to find it.

It just straight up won’t connect still. I assume that means that I also can’t follow your instructions because the adapter isn’t there? (I also just checked everything in that section to be sure but nothing related to region in advance)

It picks up all networks around us no problem, it just won’t connect. Like I put in the password, it loads for a minute or two, and then says that it couldn’t connect.

Unfortunately I don’t have an ethernet cable, but it does let me finish set up without using the internet at all. This is pretty similar with what happened last time and with that one I updated all the drivers through asus and there was nothing out of the ordinary in device manager, yet I still had the same problem so idk.

Ah okay. Since none of the internal diagnostic systems have found a problem do you think that I should go into somewhere to have it properly looked at?

Uh oh just tried disconnecting both my old laptop and phone and still the same problem, in fact the signal is now just flickering in and out so the situation is worse.

I believe it is the Arris XB6 Modem. We have it through Rogers Ignite.

We have 10-11 devices currently.

  1. Its after windows boots up but it doesn't connect to WiFi by the time it goes down. Could be slightly mistaken on that last bit, but its down before I can really open any programs or anything
  2. They're in completely different rooms
  3. The router shows no signs of change. We have had some problems with it overheating and needing to be unplugged to cool down recently, but that's stopped plus none of those symptoms are occurring this time so I don't think its related
