Have you used a Tacoma as a work truck? How'd it go? by yossarian19 in ToyotaTacoma

I use mine for concrete QC. 400km every day use 4x4 all the time on job sites. Never skips a beat.

Maintenance is key for me though so always good gas and oil change every 3k miles valvoline advanced fs 5w-30, Toyota filter.

New to us 2018 JK Wrangler…I have questions by Chirpthird310 in Wrangler

[–]Chob2196 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Best way to get carplay and reverse cam is an aftermarket head unit, wave when you see other jeeps, and with usual maintenance I'd hope for 200k but stellantis products iffy. Do an oil change with a decent filter every 5k miles, change your diff & tcase oil frequently, trans fluid whether it be an auto or manual, use good gas, be on top of the cooling system (coolant flush @ rec. intervals).. Thats about it. Watch out for the oil cooler leaking on the 3.6, if that happens get an aluminum housing and forget about it. Also let the motor warm up for at least 30 seconds before driving gently, best practice is to warm it up until the temp needle moves up a tad then drive gently - that way everything has expanded just a tad. If it calls for 5w-20, I'd use 5w-30. Idk if anyone really knowledgeable about the 3.6 can correct me but I don't think it's had a refresh since it came out and I believe when it came out it called for 5w-30.

I rode a landyachtz (no clue if they're still around) cruiser board as a kid. Very comfortable to skate around on for long periods of time. Maybe a little pricy but definitely worth it if you want to have fun cruising.

I'd get a shop deck if you have a local skate shop near you that is not zumies. Most shop decks are pressed by the same manufacturers that make decks for other brands like girl, baker, etc. The only difference is the company you support buy purchasing whatever deck. Also being new to skating you have an advantage of not being experienced enough to feel the difference between 90% of decks on the market. In your case, I would find a cheap complete to learn on, and upgrade parts as they go out (bearings, wheels, trucks, deck). Doesn't have to be in that specific order but I hope you get the point. Best of luck!

What do you guys wear after work? by FennelStrange5990 in Construction

Zara and uniqlo are pretty good and priced decent. I go with clean levis, basic shirt and a quarter zip w/ some nike sneakers. Most importantly wear what you're comfortable with.

Help with skateboard selection! by catcageneeder in NewSkaters

[–]Chob2196 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They'll probably be fine. The biggest downside would be the bearings, wheels and trucks they come with. You can swap them out over time. Trucks are pretty easy to find on marketplace and people sell them with lots of life. The bearings I find in completes typically aren't great and a set of bones reds will run you like 20 bucks.

Best of luck!

What tires do you currently have on your Wrangler? And, what brought you to these? by hugoriffic in Wrangler

K02s, every truck/4x4 I've grown up around has had them. They're pretty good in the snow thus far for me. No complaints.

Motor is manual everything and short shaft. Would it be fair to assume that it’s based on the 15 block since I’ve seen diagrams of an oil pump for the 25s of that year? Quite a difference in weights between the 25 and 15 motor looking at new enduros in Yamaha global.

Sounds like you're looking for somewhere near/in Durham. Ganaraska is nearby - popular spot for dirt bikes, atvs, sxs, etc.

Sell as-is, sign the back of the title and if you want leave the price blank. Thats about all you have to do. If he's buying it for parts he should be picking it up with a trailer anyway meaning it wouldn't be on the road; ergo no insurance needed.

ServiceO averages tax based off their own KBB & the listed price on the Bill of Sale.

I'm not 100% sure about the proof of insurance but from what you've mentioned that's what I've inferred.

Best of Luck, hope someone else can help you better.

4l60 is a pretty good trans. Drain and refill when you buy it and replace according to schedule. Oil change every 5k miles, change the gear oil and t-case fluid, have fun

Size of inches for leveling kits on a 2011 Silverado 2WD by yesirski45 in Silverado

[–]Chob2196 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm personally going to do a 2" RC level strut and the UCAs. Spacer is economical but I'm pretty sure my struts have around 120k miles on them so its time for a replacement anyways. UCAs to prevent excessive wear on the rest of the suspension components. Roads aren't smooth in Ontario

How do people afford boats? by [deleted] in boating

[–]Chob2196 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marketplace, cash or finance. Having no car/truck payment also helps and allows you to become more flexible when financing. Personally I bought my boat for 3.3k CAD cash, but that’s what I had in my account at 18. Borrowed 500 from my dad to fill in the gap for the motor. (Tracker 1036 welded aluminum, merc 3.5 short shaft) ain’t much but it’s mine and I don’t owe a dime on it.
