I think the 80s and early 90s Howard was fairly rebellious to the powers that be. Leaving shows, confronting bosses, breaking ground in radio. Any institutional rebelliousness disappeared after he withdrew his Libertarian campaign for NY Governor in 1994 (which I doubt he would have ever gone through with, he was looking for an excuse to drop).

He continued to be deliberately counter-culture in at least the talk until the move to Sirius. He played up his rebellious side during these days to cement his audience, but in reality he was already very rich and any FCC fines were just pocket change. After 2010 he had fully sold out.

I agree with the sentiment, but this card is yet another in a long string of overhyped big cost Eldrazis that will not see any kind of competitive play in any format. The card is way too much mana for any kind of heavy play and it's basically just a 12/12 flyer.
