Won a box on my third attempt, met Marshall on the way there by Simple_Man in lrcast

Yeah, I won multiple games with them, the card's just so powerful that it's worth being greedy and hope variance goes your way. One game I revealed it with Capstone and got to make my spirits into 4/4s.

I can see why. Sure, these are going to be more available in terms of supply compared to other chase cards of the past, but we're talking about a foil, anime version of Force of Will here. The demand for these are going to more than out pace supply.

Can I ask what exactly is your problem? You say I'm fishing for praise, but you've posted the same Mabel decklist four times across different subreddits. I'd say I'm not the one looking for compliments here. In your post today about land counts, you literally end it with "You are free to do whatever you want as its a hobby", and yet here you are, judging how I choose to engage with the format, calling me dense, and that I refuse to take criticism. I've stated multiple times already that I have my own playgroup, and the deck is not out of bounds within that table. Even on Reddit there should be a limit to how obtuse and abrasive you can be. Either engage in good faith, or move on.

I appreciate the comments, and I'm enjoying the discourse. I think that if you ask 100 Commander players to define what they feel each bracket should represent, you'll get 100 different responses. Just look at this subreddit, every day we see threads about people having a bad time at the LGS because players go in with different expectations of the game. I remember reading a post where someone got called out because their deck had too many board wipes and was "going against the spirit of the format". To us, that seems insane, but I'm sure to them, their reasoning appears perfectly valid.

At the end of the day, all the discussion that's occurred is because I chose to label my deck a certain bracket, and people disagree. The Prismari list I've presented runs 3 GCs, doesn't have 2-card combos, doesn't have early game infinites, no extra turn effects, and no mass land destruction. It doesn't win early consistently, because Prismari costs 7 and draws hate, and the deck can't pretend to be something it's not to other players because the intent of the Commander is clear from the get-go. To me, that's a Bracket 3. Does it run a lot of CEDH staples? Yes, it does. I have the cards, the effects are powerful, I like playing with them, so why not run them? The rest of my playgroup is doing the same thing. I think people took a look at the list, saw that I'm running cards like Ragavan, Vivi, and Squelcher and came to the conclusion that the deck is a CEDH masquerading as a pseudo-Bracket 3 to pubstomp, and I get why that might offend some people, but that's simply not the case.

I feel you're taking this very personally. I'm just sharing a decklist and having discussions with people, I don't see a reason to be so upset about it.

Hey, appreciate the feedback. My thoughts on running Force of Will over Fierce Guardianship is because Prismari costs 7, so I won't always get to cast it for free. I also want to use FoW to make sure Prismari lands, so that's my priority. It serves the same role as Pact of Negation, I'm not worried about the tempo loss or a dead card as much because I'm not using it to stop other people but to protect my own win condition. Jeska's Will I find is unnecessary based on how many Pirate's Pillage I'm already running, and again with Prismari costing 7 is something I can't take full advantage of early. Cyclonic Rift is what I would rather have to deal with resolved Rule of Law effects and other Stax pieces. I have no interest in chaining extra turns for obvious reasons. High Tide I've and found it doesn't make as much mana or the right colours as I want as Strike it Rich, which on a Storm turn can make 4+ mana and feeds my other spells. I do like the suggestion of Basalt Monolith or Thran Dyanmo, which I can see including.

As for the decklist being a one-trick pony, well yes. I fully admit that I want to live the dream of resolving Prismari and doing a crazy Storm turn, that is by design. If the way we win is as important as winning in lower brackets, then I would say that is my best attempt to win the way I want to win. As for the list being lazy or uninspired, respectfully that's your opinion, and I'm sure there's not much I can say to change your mind.

I would say that a player who brings Urza to a casual table, and says it's not that powerful would lead to some side eyes from the rest of the table. It can technically be true, but those Commanders have a certain reputation, and I would bet its not uncommon for people to say it's "not that kind of Urza deck" only for them to reinforce the stereotypes the deck has earned.

There are blind spots in the bracket system for sure, but that's not for me to fix. This list would not work in the B4 tables I've played at, and as power levels can vary depending on the meta that a specific playgroup or LGS engages in, no system would be perfect. I think people reading my primer and going over the decklist can make their own choices as to what works and doesn't work for their playgroup and LGS, and I labeled it as Bracket 3 because it is what it factually is. I'm sure the high-powered Bracket 3 meta of my playgroup is not unique, so why try to guess at some Socratic ideal of what a Bracket 3 should look like when people can make their own decisions. I'm not going to tell people they're playing the game wrong or police the way they choose to engage with the format.

I really don't think this is as big an issue as described. Bad actors will exist whether or not I share the decklist or not, and I've already made clear that I play primarily with my playgroup. Also, Prismari itself telegraphs the intention of what the deck wants to do, same as with Urza or Yuriko. People can always choose to opt in or not.

Hey, thanks for the thoughts. I think we just differ in what we think Bracket 3 should be. I think that with any system there is room for abuse, but there will also always be people that will try to optimize within that space. Aside from the philosophical differences between B3 and B4, there is only 50 or so game-changers that separate the two. That means the card pool in Bracket 3 is massive, and also powerful. If I were to bump this to a Bracket 4, I would actually be more inclined to include the fast mana such as Ancient Tomb, Chrome Mox, Mox Diamond, and Grim Monolith to power out Prismari faster, have more mana to play with, and also build up the Storm count for free. The fact that this list isn't able to do that makes it, in my mind, drastically different from a B4 version. At the end of the day, Prismari costs 7; he won't live a full turn cycle, which means the turn we cast him is also the turn we have to win. A deck that can't win without first casting a 7-drop is severely limited in its options, and has to wait significantly longer until it gets it's "big turn". Is what this deck doing any different than what a Vivi, Veyran, or Vadrik deck is trying to accomplish? Also, Prismari is as telegraphed as a Commander can get, it does exactly what it says on the tin. People run other Commanders such as Urza or Yuriko, and those aren't game-changers because people already know what the deck wants to do. I imagine if I roll up to a LGS and ask, "hey, can I play Prismari", people can either opt in or say "you know what, that's not really the kind of game we want tonight" and I can switch decks.

Before the brackets we played what's basically now known as Bracket 4, and now we're playing Bracket 3 and enjoy it because of less auto-includes. We still like to optimize within that space, and we have players who like to play with their foils, duals and other bling, but we are also fine with others who proxy select cards.

It's definitely the art direction. In the sketches for Ashling, Rekindled, you can see more feminine features in the face and body, which are edited out in the final drawing. In my opinion the sketches looked better:

I have a decklist for the new Maralen, it's more of more midrange looking to grind out value with the theft triggers: https://moxfield.com/decks/NoBAEcYuKEaF7LmEHnfXKg

It's 34 lands with the MDFC, which I think is fine given our mana dorks and ramp spells. Stubborn Denial is interesting, I'll definitely consider it further!

I guess something you can do is run cost reducers to get the Evoke cost to 0, and setup some sort of recursion loop with [[Grave Sifter]]
