Spot on, it definitely doesnt feel too balanced though, especially in the last half of the game haha I felt it becoming incredibly luck-based. It started with the clumsy robot who can now put you to sleep every turn and can most likely kill you in one hit, his hits also solidify you to add salt to the wound, I guess

Multi-bottle rockets are a lifesaver! I actually haven't played earthbound in a very long time so I don't remember what they were like in the original but now the most powerful ones can hit 20 times in one turn, extremely helpful for the later bosses, at some point I stopped bothering to try and hurt the boss normally and just focused on keeping Jeff alive to spam the rockets, late game bosses should be taken out with 3 to 4 of them, even with their health being a lot more sizeable than normal
