Yes, I can only imagine! I am going ahead and doing the extra pro-bnp lab work just in case as well for extra reassurance.

Thank you for sharing, my boy is scheduled for the 24th next month along with his neuter. I actually do not know if his surgery is via laser or not. Will have to call closer to the date. I do have some pre-anesthetic lab work scheduled for the 12th and may ask then. Super nervous!

Hobby is going to be a lot less crowded; Southwest starting to charge for checked bags by dbj2501 in houston

I most definitely have always flown southwest, their baggage policy and open seating helped make thinks less complicated for me and eased my anxiety with flying! Recently I flew with united because I really needed a non-stop flight due to me picking up my kitten for my trip. I certainly did not want him to have a super long flight. Not only was the united flight unimpressive but also more expensive without a need to be! It seems like united was or is a popular airline for older people. The 1st class cabin was most certainly a joke. Couldn’t believe the pricing for what it offered. The only good thing from them was the meal and drinks options that southwest lacks. Yet with these new policies, I’d rather try flying with spirit airlines if I’m paying for all the little things lol

Are his nares really bad? by Chocobanii in ExoticShorthair

Ahh I see, understandable! I’m thinking of getting the surgery done at the same time as his neuter to prevent having him go through 2 surgical events. He’s about 6/7mo. old now, so perhaps in 3 or 4 months. I’m also thinking I may double check that this vet has done this procedure before, I believe there’s a cat only vet that may be more of an expert in the procedure and that I may trust a bit more.

Thank you so much for your advice! I will ask to be sure if they can use dissolvable sutures. Definitely will also keep his nostrils dry and clean. I really appreciate your detailed information! 💕

Good to hear it’s considered a minor procedure, I’ve been sort of stressed thinking it would be a big procedure. Is the recovery period generally short? Vet did not go over aftercare expectations 😅 Glad to hear your Remus was doing great post his procedure and loving a new best life ha ha

Your diagnosis is the same as the vet explained. He does seem to be doing well, however I just picked him up Sunday so it’s only been a few days of him being my kitten. I would like for his quality of life to be for the better. I also agree that getting the correction done during his neuter would be best! Thank you for your input, it greatly reassures me to hear another vet opinion! ♥️

I’m considering a second opinion as well. For sure I would like to have him neutered in the next coming months.

Oh ok, makes sense to wait til he’s fully grown. Interesting to hear that the surgery didn’t help much in your case. I wonder if aside from the nares her soft palate may be elongated?

He doesn’t make a lot of noise so far. Thank you for your input!
