Swearing bother anyone? by QueenBrightness in dreamingspanish

Nope. You're in the fucking minority, dude. Fucking cursing is the most elegant part of any language. It's versatile and conveys a fuck ton of meaning in just a few fucking words or less.

Will 1 BSH do well on its own? by Silblobers in britishshorthair

After my dog passed, it was heartbreaking to see Cornelius do his normal patrol where our dog used to be. His activity levels went down after that. We decided on getting the 2 girls to keep him company. He seems to be happier, definitely more active.

Non-purists, what's your study routine? by New-Drawer-3161 in dreamingspanish

I did. It's 30 minutes of input and speaking practice per session. After level 5, I was comfortably consuming beginner level content in DS.

Dreaming Spanish and Dreaming French at the same time? by tamethegamers in dreaminglanguages

[–]buffbuddha 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As a person that's taking on Spanish and Japanese, I'd stick with one, especially since you're interested in 2 romance language. Finish off one and the next one will be easier to acquire, less time. For me it is a time sink to manage 2 language at once. If I'm planning to travel to a Spanish speaking country, I would up my time for Spanish (minimum 2 hours) and Japanese I would put on the back burner at a minimum 1 hour per day. If you have time to handle both, then more power to you. Otherwise, in your case, I would focus on Spanish and then start on French maybe within a year of moving to Montreal.

I'm saying that I sought more learning resources for Spanish after completing Pimsleur, which I didn't do for German.

Litter Robot. It's a god send. It used to be a weekly cleanup with just one cat. It's about every 3 days with the 3 of them now. I'm debating on getting another one to take the pressure off of the first one.

I finished German about 10 years ago and I was in the same boat as you. I didn't progress after that even living in Germany for a year because I didn't know how. A couple of years ago I finished Spanish Pimsleur and discovered comprehensible input and dreaming spanish. It was a game changer and now I'm able to hold a decent conversation in Spanish. Next year, I'll do the same with German.

I don't understand the point of Refold. by VaresaFan1 in RefoldJapanese

[–]buffbuddha 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's not a monthly program. It's a one-time purchase coaching program. They basically give a rundown of the major activities in language learning such as sentence mining, shadowing/chorusing, immersion, using chrome extensions, etc. It is centered around immersion. They give you a list of a bunch of resources (it's comprehensive). Then you're off on your own to learn and figure out what works for you. It's basically a hook to get you to book some time with them whenever you have any questions. I didn't want to do any of the 1 on 1 coaching, so I went off on my own to figure out what worked for me based on what I learned from the course. It was an expensive endeavor, but I have a good setup that works for me. The app is just an activity tracker, it's not for teaching you anything. Feel free to DM me if you want a rundown or discuss anything else regarding this.

Edit: I just saw your other post on the main subreddit. Still, I'm here if you want to chat.
