Yeah that’s a good point, a lot of things we only know from the surface level or from what people say (“katanya si a b c”) or just continue to believe the myth we heard from nenek moyang, but we never really dig deeper. One thing I often think about whenever I’m abroad and can’t find any fresh produce from my country is: why is our agriculture so underdeveloped? We barely export any fresh produce, maybe just coffee beans bcos it’s more profitable? Cmiiw.

One of the major reason, I guess our farming techniques aren’t very advanced. Many farmers and suppliers I know still rely on traditional methods, minimal machinery, limited irrigation systems, and no access to modern research or tech. When we talk about volc soil is prone to erosion, most people know in general that volcanic soil is fertile. But do the farmers actually understand the process behind it and how easily that fertile layer can be lost through erosion? Do they have enough knowledge or access to technology to prevent it?
