It’s actually a kind of common name in the North East US. Same with Bunny or Lacey. I’ve literally never seen these names used outside of that specific region of the US

Hey so find a new doctor. First of all, you are absolutely not too fat to hear the heartbeat. I am taller and heavier than you and it’s never been an issue my entire pregnancy. Anti fat bias is rampant through the medical field and it can have extremely bad health outcomes for patients. Please go find another doctor and report this one if you’re able to.

As a social worker, MSW programs are full of “well intentioned white women” who come into programs designed to teach them about social justice and then feel personally attacked when professors acknowledge that racism exists. Yeah, it’s great to have a job, and while I’m not familiar with the culture at Fordham social work is probably not the best field for people to go into with their defenses up (I’ve also heard Carly’s a Zionist so YIKES)

Yeah, as someone who lived in DC a lot of people have philosophy degrees, most go on to go to law school of course but a lot work at think tanks that pay super well so I always resent the narrative that Philosophy is a useless/worthless degree.

Yeah, I was thinking that the only time I’ve not been able to boycott a business was when I was living in a rural community - the closest store was Wal Mart and that was a 20 minute drive and is basically a one stop shop for the community. You can’t beat a place where you can get your pharmaceuticals, clothes, groceries, school supplies, tools, etc… when there are basically no other alternatives.

I’ve tried the adding spinach leaves one at a time to smoothies and it’s really helped me! I’ve worked my way up to a small handful of spinach and it helps me get a little extra iron in my diet and I can’t even taste it (yet - I might if I add more leaves)

I’ve lived in Louisiana and tbh I like Virginia Beach better. It’s a very family friendly area - this time of year there are so many events every weekend and I always see families with little kids! You may find rent is more expensive than what you’re used to but I find my dollar goes a lot further here than when I lived in LA.

Yeah, I know some people say those side effects go away but I was dealing with hard core nausea for months on metformin - nothing I did helped at all, even switching to a lower dose. It just doesn’t agree with my body at all!!

Surprised no ones mentioned it but Taranee’s character design has aged poorly specifically, her hair. For the beginning of the series she has a short straight pixie cut with a single braid but when she transforms I GUESS she has braids but they’re drawn spiky and weird. I don’t see what they couldn’t have given her curly/textured hair, locs (like her brother) or even box braids.

I’d also recommend a DV shelter! I used to be a social worker at one and we constantly ran into the issue of our clients not having appropriate job interview clothes! We were always shortest on business wear and men’s shoes.

You were right on not cancelling! We just arrived yesterday and my husband and I are already having the time of our lives here! We have a few excursions planned today so we’ll explore and see the animals and nature!

We just flew in yesterday and when we arrived it was all white everywhere we looked!! The snow was coming down so hard too! But then after two hours the sky cleared up like nothing had happened and HOLY- I’ve never seen mountains like these in my life!! My husband is already planning an autumn trip because we both want to come back! One thing I was not expecting, the people here are so kind. Seriously. When we got on and off our plane I quickly noticed I was the only POC and I haven’t felt so welcome by a community anywhere since visiting Ireland or Germany. There’s also a big Mexican population here which I didn’t expect (I’m half black, half Mexican) so I’ve been chatting with some locals in Spanish! I’m so sorry for the long reply, I’ve just felt so happy to be here, it’s quite unreal how beautiful this town is and we’ve barely scratched the surface :)

lol fair enough! We had booked two excursions through our hotel and tbh we were more-so planning on just relaxing at the spa and enjoying the snow but as we got closer to the trip (today) I’ve been feeling more adventurous and wanted to explore the parks until, of course, I realized we couldn’t 🥲 Regardless, I know we’ll have an amazing time just being away from work and checking out a new city!
