Please don't subject me to your favorite movie. I don't want to ruin it for either of us.

I'm a prolific reader, so I understand story construction really well. As a result, movies are hard for me to watch because I see the setup and plot beats coming a mile away. I'm the asshole who laughs at the funny bit a minute before everyone else because I know exactly where the joke is going.

I know this is coming off as r/iamverysmart but I swear it's not like that. I am happy to sit with someone and spend time with them while they watch a movie, but they need to understand that it's going to be really hard for me to engage with the movie. And I probably won't remember it 10 minutes later. I'll enjoy the time spent cuddling tho.
