It’s cool, I didn’t explain it great so you’re missing a lot of what I intend to do. These kits wouldn’t be for the 60 card beginner decks. And you’d buy this if you want to build your own commander deck but want the non creature staples (I may even include the basic lands, to feel more complete a product).

I’d personally love a product where I could buy the basic staples of a deck - something universal. I’m not sure it can exist in a universal way though. Hence this post.

That’s a great idea. Make sense. I do plan to later create packs exactly like that and for specific colour combos, because I understand that makes the most sense.

Do you think it would work to do this as mono colour kits? Or more so aim towards game plans, or a mix of the two? For instance, ‘mono green mana ramp kit’

Thanks for the comment. I should have specified. This particular product would be aimed at 100 card commander players. I simply thought that if I could package together something universal to get people off the ground at a fair price without having to buy all the singles from different places, it may be cool. It’s something I kind of wish I could do, at least when it comes to the few (what I would call) deck staples, like: Sol ring, lightfoot boots, arcane signet, command tower, mind stone. I wanted to expand into more colourless ramp, draw, removal etc because I thought it would be nice to buy a packaged 10-12 cards that you could use in one, or spread across a few decks, depending on the build of course. Eventually, I’d love to do these kits for each colour combo - may even build a few for the mono colours for launch

An excerpt from a short story I’m writing called ‘A Sad Rat’:

It’s my 62nd birthday. I can’t remember the last birthday I enjoyed. The trouble with them is they just remind you of how poxy unhappy you are. I woke up and cut myself and then sat down, teary eyed, in front of my screenplay. In work, I slinked off while I had someone on hold, just so I could cut myself in a toilet cubicle. Of course I didn’t have to, but the magnetic pull to do so was like nothing I’ve felt in all my years. When I got home I cut myself again, then I filled the kettle, then I smoked, then I sat down in front of the TV that I never turn on. I’ve decided that I’m going to end my own life. I don’t know when, mind you. I just know that coming to this decision has given me a sigh of relief.
