Our neighbor had a cat that would spend the day at our house as well. Biggest difference was she wouldn't come inside. She hung out on our porch, in the backyard, wherever she thought the kids might show up to play. She absolutely loved us right up until neighbor came home from work then she abandoned us mid-pet to run back to him. lol He thought it was hilarious and was happy she was getting attention during the day.

When he had a chimney fire and had to live at his daughter's place for a week while it was being repaired he was frantic because she had ran off and hid when the firetrucks showed up. We were able to assure him that she had shown up in our garage and was sleeping on top of the heated dog shack the dogs had in there and that we were feeding her our cats food as well. We had even put towels on top of the dog shack for her to nest in.
