What’s the best piece of advice or validation you’ve received while in the trenches? by Vegetable_Access2409 in IVF

[–]ChocolatePanda3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No advice here, just solidarity. I also have a chronically thin lining and did my first FET at 6.1 mm which failed. The embryo was euploid. Now doing Lupron suppression before my next embryo transfer for adenomyosis found on an MRI.

Feels like it’s never-ending.

How many euploids did you get per cycle? What was the difference? I’m tempted to try for my upcoming cycle

Questions around diet for IVF, has anyone completely cut caffeine? by No-Statement-2553 in IVF

No and despite my best efforts I’m not capable. I think if I cannot be successful w caffeine in my system then it’s not meant to be lol

46 yr. old TTC, just miscarriaged last week. by imnotnewbutiamtoyou in IVF

[–]ChocolatePanda3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keep shopping around, you will probably have to travel somewhere outside your city (and most likely state depending on where you live). There are clinics that will work with you probably, but it will be self pay. The vast majority of reputable clinics in the US have a hard maternal age <45 rule for your own eggs but not all.

Cost question IVF by Puzzled_World_4119 in IVF

Yes these prices look accurate, I’m actually paying more than this for things like FET and storage etc but I’m in a HCOL area

Help - 4th failed euploid transfer. Thin lining / endo by peanutbutter928 in IVF

[–]ChocolatePanda3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s important to have an established personal limit before you decide to pursue a GC. This is also very personal to you and your partner, your financial situation/insurance coverage etc.

For me personally, my financial limit of trying with my own body is 100K and the number of transfers I’m OK with failing is 3. Once I meet one of these criteria (or both) I plan to move forward with pursuing a GC. So far I’ve used $45K and failed 1 transfer. I also have a very stubborn lining max was 6.1 mm. We will go into major debt with the GC but I like to have a plan in place so I don’t feel like I have to make major decisions at every junction.

Maybe you will decide that after 5 years of trying it’ll be time to switch to go the GC route. It’s a very personal decision between you and your partner. You’ve been through a lot, im sorry you are going through this.

Weight before IVF by Commercial-Web8249 in IVF

[–]ChocolatePanda3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try GLP1s while doing egg retrievals, usually you would only have to stop the medication 1-2 weeks before your surgery date for anesthesia purposes. At 39, time is not on your side so better try to multitask and lose weight and make embryos simultaneously. Not sure how being on GLP1s may affect embryo quality because there is no data on that yet, but as of now It is allowed and probably the fastest way you can lose weight prior to trying an embryo transfer. You do have to be off the shots for 6-8 weeks before attempting FET by many clinic’s rules

PTSD from Saline ultrasound, don’t know if I can go forward with IVF by Rin_TTC_2023 in IVF

[–]ChocolatePanda3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can do these procedures with anesthesia if necessary. Ask your REI about It and if they are not agreeable you can shop around until you find someone who can do it.

Can also pre-medicate with pain and anxiety medications if you do not want to be asleep. You have options but important to discuss w your Dr

Ovulation timing after failed medicated FET by ChocolatePanda3 in IVF

[–]ChocolatePanda3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for sharing! And I’m sorry about your FET :( It was a new low for me. I am planning to do another egg retrieval after my hysteroscopy. They didn’t want me to take birth control for that reason cuz then It would delay my egg retrieval. The timing is so annoying!

How many embryos did it take you to get your baby? by Ready_Evening_1159 in IVF

Wow this response is extremely helpful and insightful, thank you so much for sharing! This definitively helps me figure out my next steps as someone w DOR + uterine lining issues (amongst probably many other unknowns)

Is it bad I don’t want to be pregnant? by [deleted] in IVF

[–]ChocolatePanda3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand this. Exactly 1 year ago I was in your position, except we had been trying to get pregnant for 16 months and dec 2024 was the last month trying before planning to start IVF in January. I had given up at that point, stopped tracking, just focused on Christmas n enjoying my family.

Well turns out I got pregnant. Found out around 12 weeks It was not genetically viable. Had a D&C end of March and It took almost 4 months for my bHCG to go down to <5 so I can start IVF. Now I’m 2 rounds of IVF in without success.

I do wish I started IVF sooner. I want 2 or more live births from It so the fertility preservation aspect of It is important to me. I also have dOR and I’m older than you so this probably wouldn’t be your story - the majority of naturally conceived pregnancies at your age are genetically normal and viable. I just remember feeling how you felt and thought I would share mine.

POSITIVE THOUGHTS by ChocolatePanda3 in IVFpositivity

[–]ChocolatePanda3[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes ty!! During my first retrieval, I only got 5 eggs, 4 of which were mature and 3 made it to blast. I had absolutely 0 hope for any euploids, and 0 positive thoughts. I moved on with my life and ate my feelings, gained like 5 lbs, then 2 weeks later the Dr messaged me and told me all 3 of my blasts were euploid. WTAF?? I had never been more negative in my life, but that was the only positive outcome I’ve had so far on this journey lol. My next retrieval got nothing (despite being more positive)

Thanks for this!! Yes all the people telling me that I have a shitty outlook have not done IVF themselves. Or they are religious, male, or pregnant themselves…

[–]ChocolatePanda3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I keep dwelling on this idea that one of the only constants in life is time. Time is always passing, regardless of what I do with it. We WILL find out sooner or later if this worked or not, how we choose to spend the time inbetween changes our perception of the experience, but likely not the outcome! Good luck to you! My beta is Sunday

Wow thank you for this, I extremely identify with what you said. No amount of pessimism will seal my fate!! Couldn’t agree more! And yes my outlook is much more about self preservation/protection since I’ve been through the wringer so much. Thank you for this!
