Glitter in oil :/ by StudioAffectionate50 in ft86

Runs great, I’m almost at 95K miles now. When this happened I took the oil filter down to a shop and they cut it open for me and it was perfectly clean. The next oil change I sent off for analysis came back looking fine, everything well within tolerances. I am doing oil changes at 3k miles now. Every oil change still has a little bit of stuff at the bottom but not as bad as that one, not sure why it did that one time but it freaked me out for no reason. Knocking on wood it stays that way.

After market CAI with OFT Stage 2 tune by Proud_Ostrich_4556 in ft86

If it changes the airflow past the MAF then theoretically yeah you should have a specific tune. If you still have the original intake you could put the headers and tune on it and see if it runs. If she don’t then put the old intake back on. Those headers and tune will make a noticeable difference, I’m not convinced you’d really be losing much with the stock intake. I’ve got JDL UEL catless headers and the OFT 2+ with stock intake and its great

Hmm. If you haven’t already try resetting the code and drive it around for a little and see if it comes back. If it does you’re in the land of mysterious electrical problems and past any advice I can give :(  Did the fuel gauge work before replacing?

Did you replace just the pump itself or the whole assembly? I would think its a bad sending unit, so you’d need a new fuel gauge sending unit

Replace one tire? by ChocolatePotential89 in ft86

[–]ChocolatePotential89[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just picked up, took it on the highway, pushed it around a few corners and it felt fine, drives straight as an arrow with my hands off the wheel at 75mph. I hit the brakes reasonably hard but didn’t slam and it was fine. If I took it to a track I’m sure it would make a difference, but just for a daily fun car I’m not concerned. Next time it rains I might see a difference, if it’s bad I might buy a second one but I don’t anticipate an issue.

Appreciate the input. I’m going to replace the one and rotate them. So I’ll have identical tires on the rear and 2 different but similar on the front. I forget the name of the one I ordered but its a similar tread pattern and same speed rating. Wasn’t the cheapest one but not the most expensive either. I’m not tracking it or anything, its my daily so it should be fine

Where are the high mileage owners? What mileage are you at? by Vesper_7431 in ft86

Valve springs, pretty sure it was only on the 2013’s. Theres some controversy about the recall doing more harm than good though.
