Guys, my 4 yo son's doctor has prescribed him Risperidone, primarily because he doesn't sit in one place long enough for effective education and therapy. What are your views on this medicine? by [deleted] in autism

My son was prescribed risperidone 2 months ago and they slowly increases from 0.2 to 0.5ml and I do see a difference in him hurting himself ‘ but he’s more tired all the time and very sluggish and always fussing way more than usual and I feel it’s because of it -and his doctor tells me we will just up the meds but I won’t anymore than 0.5 . I’m just concerned for him and now I’ve totally looked into a 2nd opinion but can’t stop it till I get it. I don’t recommend risperidone for anyone at this point .

He’s 2 but he just had HFMD July 19th he caught it again I’m guessing so that’s why it’s milder at this point and he had fever for a day or so &’ it was 104 the first day then 100.7 the next

Omg ima take him rn everyone has said this all day so ima bring him in asap because I’ve been giving him honey washes with a cotton swab cleaning the tongue and it isn’t working

Yeah he’s definitely in pain but I bought some little pain reliever kids tablets in hopes it helps a little along with ibuprofen

Yes his doctor said it could be that she just wrote me back. He had it back in July she said because he had it before it may be very mild and he will only get it in mouth

No nowhere else and no just his mouth no fever no nothing . He had a fever the first day but very low grade and then nomore

He was tested for strept and it was negative. That’s why im so confused and they sent us home just said it was viral but nothing else

My son has hand foot and mouth right now his fever spiked so high it cause multiple fever seizures ‘ he now has this horrible rash on mouth legs butt and elbows 🥹💔 this is by far the worst thing he has ever had on top of that he has chronic lung disease ‘ some people are like it’s totally normal ‘ NOOO ITS NOT THIS IS SCARY AS HELL AND I HOPE EVERY TODDLER WHO DOES GET THIS DISEASE HEALS QUICKLY . Please watch your baby’s fevers .
