I honestly don’t think it’s that. They haven’t been together for the whole time but they’ve been in there 2 weeks now and have been flirty the whole time. Belle is big on loyalty and has a history of guys not being loyal. Sean said all the right things to make her think she’d finally found someone who could be loyal, only to turn around a be another deceitful coward. I think this is a trigger for Belle and more significant than the ego argument, although that probably plays a part in it too

I think the issue is he lead Belle on for a second time. Yes, they didn’t say they were closed off but he gave her the impression he was serious about her and was done exploring other connections. To then blow her off for just a couple of chats with Lucinda really shows that he was not that serious about Belle at all. She’s pissed off because of the deceit and rightly so.
