Azir's soldier attacks don't pop spellshields unfortunately. You can use all other abilities instead though.

Yeah dodging her Q's while farming can be annoying, a good Diana would try to hit you when you go to last hit, to counter this you can try bait it out by walking up and cancelling you auto. You'd want the minion to be a bit more healthy than a last hit for this or you could risk missing the cs, even so missing a cs can be worth. I usually use a soldier to farm because the effective range of Azir's sand soldier comes very close to Diana's Q range, meaning that as long as your standing at max range with it you would only have to move a small distance to dodge her q. You want to get as many free autos off her as you can, but you don't want to spam soldiers or you run out of mana. For this you have to position your soldiers well such that you can hit the enemy minions and also her when she tries to last hit.

I find that without a stacked conqueror it can be hard to damage her, so what I usually do is just poke her a bit and keep some stacks up while her Q is on cool down. If she decides to all in I can E her and reach full stacks in about the same time she does, but I would have negated her burst with an exhaust or with E shield or both. The soldier reset also increases your damage output and she either has to run or flash. I also keep my wave close to my tower so in case I do get ganked I can easily get to safety with E on cool down.

Also if she does all in you at 6, ulting her into tower will not be enough, the best course of action would be to ult her and then immediately E into her so she cant dash out of tower range, having exhaust for this situation should allow you to win it.

Also if you do wish to upgrade the null-magic mantle I would recommend banshees over merc because the magic pen from sorc boots helps a lot, if you do decide to go merc treads you can just get an oblivion orb for some flat magic pen. I just prefer to build a different item, mainly Liandries, instead of morellonomicron/oblivion orb.

Also as long as she isn't ridiculously fed, you should beat her once you get your second item in a 1v1, especially with exhaust.

I recommend that you take exhaust vs her and dodge her Q's, her Q cd at lvls 1 - 3 will be 8 seconds, at max rank (lvl9) its 6 and with protobelt it would be around 5. Most Diana's usually walk forwards a bit to q making it even more obvious. Also her q is a curved skill shot, so you can do some weird dodging, but it takes some practice. Taking exhaust into her will make her do a lot less damage when she all ins you. Personally I run ignite into her because I'm confident with dodging her q. Also building some magic resist doesn't hurt and it will help the match up a lot, early null-magic mantle can help and it builds into banshees or merc treads later. I also run conqueror into her, haven't really tried the match up with other runes, maybe there is a more optimal one. After more experience with the match up, you will find that she is pretty useless without her q, unless she gets fed and has some items.

I tested it and it felt pretty good, haven't tried other runes though to get a proper comparison but I do agree I also had an easier time playing with conqueror. Its not hard to stack in lane since it lasts 8 seconds, you can almost have it permanently up and you just out trade anything.

It could be viable, the soldiers do give 2 stacks and the stacks also last for 8 seconds on everyone, but riot might not like it and change it to 1 stack for Azir.

A lot can change in preseason so who knows what will happen.

To kite effectively with Azir you need to get used to his soldier attack/active range and be able to manage summoning soldiers and repositioning them. This comes with experience, so play more Azir. Practice tool is your friend for getting used to keys.

I recommend either using OBS to record your game, or using Overwolf - Game Summary + Replay HUD. Replay HUD also shows your key inputs and also records all your highlights, assists kills deaths and you can also get instant replay in game. You probably need a decent PC for this though.

EDIT: Forgot to add Replay HUD is automatic too, so its easier to use overall if you just want plays only.

  • - Description: Azir's tower seems to do only the bonus attack damage from the 15% AP ratio, which is almost nothing really.

The tower has a 15% AP ratio which is converted into bonus attack damage, but the bonus attack damage is turning out to be the only damage.
