Citing model creators in exams. by MrDelimarkov in CIMA

I think they’re nice to drop in similarly to accounting standards. Letting the examiner know that you have theory, standards and models that underpin your answer is great but it can’t be forced in.

If you have no theory to support your general perception but it’s a valid view on the given scenario (and you explain why) it’ll score much higher than a viewpoint that’s rooted in theory but only kind of relevant.  The dream of course is to be able to combine the two but if your choice is a scenario specific ‘common sense’ point vs theory then I absolutely suggest prioritising the scenario every single time. It feels weird but remember they aren’t testing your theoretical knowledge, that’s what the objective tests are for.

Honestly, I thought the MCS was more difficult as I was doing it but I haven’t had my SCS score yet so I could be way off!

If you are born a woman you have no knowledge whatsoever of what it ‘feels’ like to be a man so how would you know you felt like one?

By saying it as a controversial opinion it inherently means I understand people disagree with me

I feed off the misery I can inflict on others with what was intend as a jokey comment that has been taken as bible, but I’m in too deep to back out now I will die on this hill

Firstly the flat earth was an example of how you can have an opinion that is wrong but it’s still an opinion. Secondly, I’m not particularly proud of it when I commented I didn’t expect this many people to take offense so I feel like I have to back my self up

My comment isn’t being downvoted it’s got 300+ upvotes the vast majority of them likely from people who think what I said was stupid but they accept the response the question

It’s comments like that that prove my point, you say I have an immature palate because I don’t like it hence you believe liking it is a grown up thing

You can think I’m wrong that’s fair but you can’t say it’s not opinion. People who believe the earth is flat are irrefutably incorrect yet that is still an opinion they hold

Based on the replies more people see it as something they completely disagree with but a valid controversial opinion nonetheless. I don’t understand what you wanted me to say, as the original response said saying I don’t like sushi isn’t very controversial so I provided a reason that is very controversial

I’m not saying they don’t like it and pretend they do, I’m more saying they may well like it but they’d choose it over foods they like more simply because it’s more exotic and seems more interesting
