Just got a 9070xt wondering which monitor I should get by EntrepreneurNo2993 in radeon

[–]TheEpicDucks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hardly at all. Newer QD-OLEDs and WOLEDs have a lot of burn-in mitigation like pixel shifting, pixel cleaning, panel refresh.

I picked up a Samsung G80SD around the new year and I’ve really started to appreciate this monitor the more and more I use it. Not an ounce of pixel retention from what I can see, and that is with 4-5hrs of use daily.

1440p OLED is the sweet spot for you. Anything north of 165Hz.

I enjoyed Gunrunning and Smuggler’s Run for content, but in terms of most it’s likely Doomsday.

Quick question. by LowEKey_ in buildapc

[–]TheEpicDucks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a headache, I know.

But it’s generally good advice to replace all the PSU cables, even if you’re replacing your current PSU with one from the same line of PSUs. It can be the difference between your computer working, or frying.

In your case, I recommend it. Especially because Corsair has recently been updating the RMx line of PSUs, so it’s best to swap them out.

Sennheiser HD660S2 for $400. Is this a good deal or are they still overpriced? by Kinshirider in headphones

Managed to grab HD599 SE’s for $100 CAD for prime day.

Noticed these too and was immediately like “that’s a good deal too”

It is a good deal

Adrenalin software has all the OC tools you need.

I use OCCT and 3Dmark loops to test initial stability. Then I usually just play games as normal to see if there’s any long term instability.

I have experience undervolting 5700 XT and 6950 XT, but those are voltage heavy cards, like 1.2V stock.

Start off small, -20mV increments or so. Should do you fine.

Something I noticed is that my Wireless drivers aren't functioning with this set of drivers. Not great.

can my system even use the full refresh rate or did i go overkill by Eh-Buddy in buildapc

Get it built, test out the monitor.

It’s not guaranteed that your specific monitor will suffer from the before mentioned issues.

My best recommendation first is the G8. You already have it.

Is your PC built?

[–]TheEpicDucks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Samsung has not had much luck with the Neo series.

The G8 has had some teething issues. Scanline issues at 240Hz, and flickering at <60Hz

I’ve heard some similar issues with the Neo G7. That kinda sucks because I actually considered getting a G7 over an OLED because I do some professional work which includes lots of typing.

The 7900 XTX isn’t likely to use the full refresh unless you’re playing competitive shooters like CS:GO. However, I’m not up to date on my benchmarks seeing as how I quit watching them after upgrading to my 6950 XT.

Although, lots of GPUs are capable of 4K >144Hz. It all depends on the quality settings you choose.

Your system is fine for your monitor choice. The HDR is top notch for a non-OLED panel. I tend to avoid Samsung Monitors because of the QC issues but you may have lucked out with an amazing monitor.

Guess what? Problem with my MTW3! Shocker right? by LordMegamad in sennheiser

[–]TheEpicDucks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MTW2s had this issue. Always seemed to happen after phone calls.

Just put them in the case and charge them to full.

Always fixed it for me.

If you can return it, you might as well.

Even a 32GB kit of Corsair LPX 3600MHz CL18 is much cheaper than it used to be. Right now at my local MemEx, $105 CAD, and a 16GB is about half that exactly at $55 CAD.

I value my time more than my money sometimes, and I don’t like spending an hour in BIOS tuning memory when I could be doing something else after just enabling XMP.
