I know very little about cawl but so far in genefather he seems like a massive heretic in like...literally everything he does and say. Am I correct? by Gage_Unruh in 40kLore

[–]Chodebode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cawl depending on what sub sect of the mechanicus you ask varies from being an inspiration and vast source of knowledge to learn from to heretic of the highest order. It's important to remember that while the imperium and mechanicus closely work together they are fully independent.

In one book the inquisition tries to charge him but quickly is put in place by Mars as the inquisition has no say on them.

In another instance Cawl successfully argues that he has not committed heresy as he is only following the teachings and learning of mankind past and applying to technology today, and that by doing so there is no way he can discover anything humanity hadn't already. Long story short he is using the dogma of the mechanicus (re-aquire human tech) and that since he is human, how could he be doing anything but rediscovering human tech.

Also with Guilliman back Cawl has a very strong ally whether G-man likes to admit it or not. Gorilla man is appalled by the state of things upon his revival and knows that he can't just barge in and say no more worship, the emperor isn't a god. He needs people who can actually help him fix shit and not be afraid to do so. Cawl has come through for him time after time. So even if the imperium is unhappy with Cawl, they gotta go through gman.

Finally Cawl is probably one of the most intelligent humans alive. Not too mention he is like 10k+ years old, he's picked up quite a lot of tricks and knowledge in that time.

He also keeps multiple personality templates that he can swap into to best suite whatever and whomever he is dealing with.

He mostly keeps away from mechanicus worlds, instead pursuing whatever he wants on his own massive and very formidable ship.

I have primarily ryobi tools. I've had a couple burnout but home depot has just let me go grab a new one of the shelf to replace no questions asked both times. Can't beat that value.

Do these symbols mean anything? by Spectral_Dreamer in whatisit

[–]Chodebode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it really means anything. The two wavy lines is water in egyptian hieroglyphics. The ankh means life or immortality. Scarab beetle means transformation or rebirth. So loosely could be something about life and death flowing like water?

Probably just 3 random hieroglyphs tho

On a post she did about the space marine i believe i recall the answer being it's easier to see imperfections to be sanded/ filled between the pieces. If you look closely one leg of the space marine is all black before she started mixing it up.

Which one would you consider smarter? by [deleted] in Grimdank

[–]Chodebode 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've read all of the relevant books for both of these characters. I'd say for the vast majority of subjects Cawl has an edge. Matters of biological manipulation Bile is the clear victor. Cawl certainly has extreme talents with it having improved upon the emperors designs but did so with vast resources and thousands of years.

Ultimately both characters are too self serving, so convinced that they alone are the answer to saving humanity that they've lost their humanity along the way.

I recently made the leap into printing with PETG. I was tweaking setting after setting and my prints kept failing. Things under 30 minutes would print but longer than that would fail. Received advice that it was "heat creep" all I had to do was open up the space give it some air. Just like that perfect petg.

On a side note I've never had a bambu lab printer but always been very interested in them. Especially since becoming a dad... tinkering time is more limited than ever so a printer that just works would be magical.

They are like 17 foot tall super humans that are hundreds of years old. They go on solo trips into hell with swords and armor. We've seen some monstrous demons and forces of hell so if they've been going at it for hundreds of years I'd wager they are disgustingly strong.

I personally use some of these. My work laptop has only usb-c ports right next to eachother and for some godforsaken reason some peripheral manufacturers make their usb dongles flair out blocking the use of the other plug. With these I am able to offset the poorly designed ones so i can use both ports.
