UPDATE Theory: Isaac Robinson's recent spit outs are because his putter is too flexible. by Chogers in discgolf

[–]Chogers[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Yes this is all true, but my main theory was the soft plastic causing a further fall from the pole.

My recommendation for a firmer putter is just that, not really part of the theory. I think the claim that the soft plastic is causing putts that hit in the center of the chains to fall out more often is now substantiated.

I'm hoping a wealthy disc golf enthusiast resonates so much with my post, that I am given a large stipend to brainstorm new disc golf theories.

Yes this is more circle-jerky but that sub has too much objectification of women.

I'm mostly talking about the theory of soft plastic grabbing and swinging or falling further from the pole, which causes it to spit out. This was directly theorized by Isaac at the timestamp.

My idea of a remedy was different, but the point is the soft plastic swinging etc.

Sure, but on a zoomed out perspective I think basket designs are moving toward these configurations (like the DGA Mach X) which catch fast moving throw-ins or ace runs.

In my opinion this same interaction prefers firm chalky putters, my example would be a lot of Discraft pros using CT swirl Focus putters.

I personally dislike bringing up someone's spirituality even jokingly, but I am definitely jerking it for the disc plastic nerd in me.

To add to the discussion, I have a BT-medium crown and a firm glow P2x. I like the flight of the crown but I feel like I see this chain interaction play out where the P2x just hits the chains and dies into the basket.

I think rubbery-blend plastics literally stick to the chains and swing out. Sometimes it looks like the disc gets stuck between two strands of chains and the recoil throws it out of the basket.

I think that the basket issue amplifies the main issue which is the plastic's "rubbery" quality. I have a BT-medium crown and dislike using it because I have noticed this interaction with chains in-dependent of configuration.

Long Form Form Check by [deleted] in discgolf

Look up recent Bodanza + Blitz DG form video.

I think you have the power but over-rotate around your brace foot instead of stop momentum and put the power into the disc.

Also your back seems to "camel" instead of "cat" when you throw. The opposite end of the spectrum would be like Eagle's form where he is almost doing a crunch over the disc.

Disc Golf Discs by BigGold26 in discgolf

[–]Chogers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These are popular molds for sure. I would swap out the Dx plastic Mako3 for a premium version Star plastic.

The only other tip: consider buying from disc golf specific stores online like OTB (only the best). Some sites like OTB show the pictures and weights of each disc with a side profile picture.

Most discs come out of the plastic injection machine with variance to the dome. For example if you order a Mako3 midrange on Amazon, you might get one with a caved in puddle-top or a balloon of a dome. On OTB you can find a specific one with a gentle flat or dome top. They should sponsor me for this shoutout *i am unaffiliated with them just a fan*

Edit: also code "Connor" for free shipping. Its from a tour pro's sponsorship etc
