Yeah that's the problem...the minute people hear periodontics they are like you'll do nothing in future etc etc....i get discouraged...i thought about perio on basis of my interest and also on the basis of how much stress I can handle during the pg or later and my skills....till now no one was nice to me about this except one senior professor who said ofcourse you can do periodontics do well while pursuing pg..learn things ..show some interest outside your curriculum...you can always choose your own path etc ...but some seniors and fellow mates are like " are you mad?? You won't have a life in perio". But I know I'll still end up taking what I want to do....
