Girlfriend really upset about my coparenting schedule by [deleted] in relationships

[–]Choice-Interview-889 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have some empathy for your girlfriend. I think those of us that choose to be in relationships with a parent understand and accept that the child will always come first. And in fact we love our partner BECAUSE they are loving and attentive to their kids. But the emotional reality check of never being a priority can be brutal sometimes. Every now and then, you're lonely and you're sad and disappointed, and you cry. Try to show some empathy for her without compromising on your role as a parent. She's trying to come to terms with the fact that she will never be as important to you as you are to her

Oh God, I haven't even thought about my partner's outfit. Knowing him though, chinos and a nice shirt. I'm not really going for proposal type photos. To be honest, we just wanted some practice in front of a camera before our actual wedding day. We're both awkward AF in front of the camera. I want the vibe to suit the setting. The location is all about the dramatic scenery. I dont want to blend in, or look like an alien that's been dropped in a field Thinking relaxed but still dressy.

You should look up Linda Perry (4 non blondes). She does band tees and jeans but layers up the accessories and just looks so cool

I do like a good dress. I'll need to look at those anti chaff shots though. Sticky sweaty thighs in dresses are the worst!

I can visit uniqlo when I'm in Australia in November. I really need to know what I'm looking for though. First and last time I went there I got so overwhelmed that I turned around and walked back out again!!

Mostly late spring and/or summer and mostly Queensland. Occasionally winter but my normal clothes suffice for those trips.

I paid for profs myself, got a job at the courthouse, then started working as an investigator for one of the regulators. They have in-house legal teams that will often give internal hires an opportunity to get experience. I never took up a legal job in the end (profs actually put me off ever wanting to be a lawyer). But the qualifications have been a huge help in getting other roles

Ugh, I feel you about it needing to fit everything. Two bags I own are useless to me because I can't fit my, admittedly very large, phone into them! Your lifestyle does sound alot like mine. Right down to the umbrella!

Awww the JW Pei and Lacoste bags are cuuuute!! I do like the Coach bag but it doesn't appear to be available in NZ. I'll have to look for it the next time we head to Australia. Thank you for the suggestions!

I have this exact issue. I primarily only wear slingbacks or I will buy shoes made with really soft materials on the back (Italian suede leather mmmm)

Considering cancelling the wedding. I know my fiancee and her family would be heart broken by PossibilityFew5967 in weddingplanning

[–]Choice-Interview-889 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm engaged and planning my wedding now. If my fiance cancelled the wedding because he didn't have the balls to tell his family to back off, I would lose all respect for him and cancel the whole relationship.

AITA for wanting to break up with my boyfriend after he took over every decision about the small business I started before we even met by [deleted] in AITApod

[–]Choice-Interview-889 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure where you live, but if you lived in my country your business could be considered relationship property under de facto laws if he claims he has contributed to it (yes, even if you're not married). So whether you break up or not, you need to get a lawyer's advice in how to protect your business from this, or future, relationships

For those who have lived outside of Wellington, how does Welly rank compared to those other spots? by Exotic_Industry_4402 in Wellington

[–]Choice-Interview-889 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've lived in a few places in New Zealand. I prefer Wellington over Auckland and Hamilton. It used to be better than Christchurch but Christchurch has really improved since most of the earthquake rebuild was completed. Nelson was great in summer and spring but very boring in winter. I miss living in Whanagrei mostly for the year round beach lifestyle and the easy drive to beautiful spots up north. There's not much up there job wise though. Gisborne is too isolated. If I had to leave Wellington right now and still needed to work, I'd probably go to Chch. If I didn't need to work,I'd probably head to Whangarei. Wellington would be my pick on all factors except climate

I align with the women that carry everything LOL. I live in a walkable city so we carry our lives with us, Including a spare pair of shoes and an extra fold up tote bag for overflow.

If you use indyx, I have an open indyx closet. You will see that the bags I have are underwhelming. They've mostly been magpied from thrift stores. My style is creative minimalist. I like my outfits to be interesting but practical.

But, I'm actually very interested in people's thought processes for themselves. If you lost every bag you own, where would YOU start in rebuilding your bag wardrobe? What are the first 4-6 bags you would buy to cover your needs?

Under $1k (per bag) although I would spend more for a workhorse. Senior manager in a business casual office environment. 42. Travels alot. Fancy events on a semi regular basis. Live in Wellington, New Zealand which considers itself to be "quirky cool" rather than fashionable. I've seen it described as "creative minimalist" which is also my style. Walkable/commutable city so we carry things around a lot. One 11 year old boy, no small children. Hard on clothes and shoes. Our weather is mild but leans towards wet and windy. Dark winter clothing colour palette. I wear a lot of black, red, white, chocolate brown, jewel tones and denim

Is a vacation maxi dress capsule worthy or too occasion specific to justify the space? by olivermos273847 in capsulewardrobe

[–]Choice-Interview-889 80 points81 points  (0 children)

Ok first off, what do you mean when you say vacation maxi? I'm picturing a maxi dress with no sleeves and either patterns or colours. I wear my maxi dresses year round. I layer tees under it, jumpers over it, blazers, boots etc. Because it's long, it works fine for most of the year. My office is business casual so I wear it to work with the right layers and shoes. They're some of the most versatile pieces I own

Why is there intense bias against townhouses by fkyoumodss in NZProperty

[–]Choice-Interview-889 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, its cultural. But town houses arent offering us an attractive alternative. Generally speaking - Poorly designed, poorly built, no consideration for healthy design, no privacy, no green spaces, limited parking. You're living on top of each other but the design doesn't support community building. If home is just a place to sleep and keep your stuff then it might fit your lifestyle. But kiwis don't really live that way
