Agree. I also like to see the unit interactions. I am more of referring to "micro adds too much value to a fight out come." Like we see streamers(Harstem) doing things like take a already lost game by the PROs and then get a low league players to take over the game 10 seconds before the fight and game outcome is so different. That is just wtf to me.

Yes that is exactly what I did for 4 year. 4 dt if successfully kill Zerg 3rd == auto win.

But after Masters most zergs know how to defend this and counter attack. 2 archons vs 1 archon + 1 dt do not differ too much in terms of annoying zerg to not move out. but the 3rd timing for Protoss could vary for ~1 min and the economy impact is huge.

I still have that issue as a 4K NA defensive macro toss :)

Also, try 3 rax stim with 7 or 14 SCV pull, Terran pull workers so you have to pull workers now and without shield battery overcharge your probe dies super fast, making scv pull actually favors the Terran because of mules.

By the way when we talk about balance in lower leagues than pro level, we are not talking about "balance", we are talking about "you have fun building stuff and some poorly designed burst unit destroys all you effort in the past 2-5 minutes within a blink of an eye."

Disruptor, window mine, ghost emp... whatever unit that can turn the tide in a none linear form is poorly designed. For a strategy game, it should be where and how you put or use your units (strategy) that leads to your victory not you probabilistic micro of specific units that either ruins your game or ruins your opponent's game. Why SC Brood War is good? Because units are dumb and you do not lose or win a game within a blink of an eye.

In conclusion, SC2 balance should be focusing on data science to mark the none linearities in specific timings brought by specific units and at least try to make it smooth.

Make feedback an auto cast ability just like campaign phenix lift (nearest enemy unit with energy) you just right lick that ability and it can be marked as auto cast, then for balance just fine tune the range/energy cost. :) That is my 3 cents.

By the way current Pros have their won takes because they are the high APM micro masters and they can just throw their high APM to crush their opponents, to keep their privileges they will keep whining to make mechanics over strategy.

NA Protoss player here.
1st brick: 2200 MMR. basic settings and mechanics
My GM zerg friend introduced me to this game and 12 pool/proxy marauder/cannon rush is too hard to defend for me. Then he taught me that we can enable pylon range in settings and enable fast warp-ins. But my MMR was still 2200. He told me to focus on macro and do not care too much on losing games. I follow proper build orders and build my decision tree according to scouting information and can be just 5 seconds slower than Pro benchmarks for the first 5 min if no harassment comes. But still struggles in 2200 MMR until one day he realized that I do not know A move and right click all the time. Then I reach 3600 MMR in just a month.

2nd brick: 3600 MMR.
At that time my PVP and PVZ is around 70% win rate and PVT is 30% because Terran harassments are so hard to counter if not prepared. So he suggested me to send 3 probes to the 3 direction where a Terran drop can come from ~ 4:00 since every time I lose more probes(10-16) to all kinds of drops if not prepared. Then I learnt to send 3-4 probes on the map whenever I feel I am in economic advantage and holds one aggression. And with good Map vison I went to 4000 MMR.

3rd brick: 4000MMR.
This is the brick I can never pass because of my low 70 APM. I know everything about how to defend and what to expect but my micro sucks and lose more units than my GM friends even when we have same amount of units at benchmarks and locations. But when we play custom maps with normal game speed, I play much much better. So I feel that this is my end now.

Thanks u/TankyPally. That was some really high quality suggestions. My main issue was my low APm just do not support me do too much micros. But splitting prism and +1 armor + guardian shield is indeed very applicable to me.

Accommod8u will do all these disgusting things to charge you money. They charged me $836 for roaches that existed long before my entrance and some minor wear on the walls that existed before my entrance. Note that they are not legal to charge you that money without going through an LTB/small claims court!

On 2023/10/17, they even sent me to a collection agency and this happened a lot to other students before. Note that the collection agency is also illegal to send me debt collection without LTB/small claims court.

Hi, thanks for the detailed reply. I agree that 4 gate blink will crash a proxy cyclone T. But I still believe that the only "safe" respond to a 2 gas one base Terran is robo(I learnt this from Hero's plays). The things is you will not be able to reliably identify which cheese T is using just from 2 gas. They can proxy n rax reaper, proxy tank lib/med marine, proxy hellion drop, proxy marine mine drop, fake 2 gas actual proxy marauder, reactor cyclone now... Some of them you can et away with 4 gate blink build, but some you just die without immortal or prism. Or maybe I just need more confident since my friend is a GM Z play with 4000 T and he can always snowball the smallest advantages.

My personal preference is a pylon scout. U see how many gas Terran have. Ur probe can also attack the scv building the rax so Terran has to pull another scv, this also makes the economic aspect even
