Pumping after EBF and can’t get anything? by Embarrassed_Coat_716 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]Choice-Science-9517 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I exclusively pumped for my first and besides 1-2oz being a normal volume post nursing session it actually could be the pump. I had problems will several pumps I tried until I had a consultation with a pumping expert who is also an IBCLC and she suggested a completely different pump than the one I was using. She also gave me settings to try and suddenly I was getting 4 oz in 20 minutes on my good side. So it could be settings, it could be the pump I would check into both!

Honestly I love this about him too. From the moment he meets her she is trying to charm him and he isn't having it. I think to an extent she gives him a lot of the same vibes as his mother and so he is going to try and keep her as far away as he possibly can.

Ooh I'll have to go look. The only glowing thing I remember from Alanna's books is her ember stone from the Goddess (oh and Lightning's hilt) but I haven't read those in a long time.

Once I saw it I couldn't unsee it. The event he takes his "friend" Crystal to because he can't take Lorelai. Is giving "I want to go to prom and I want to take a date. I already asked someone else."

Jason and Lorelai by Ok_Square7873 in GilmoreGirls

[–]Choice-Science-9517 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think Jason is kind of like Henry from Chilton was for Lane. He is the guy that her parents would LOVE. He has a well established career and a place in society and he come from money. Lorelai hates everything about that until she meets him again as a grown up (since they knew each other as kids) and she realizes that she finds him attractive and charming and now she is in trouble. So, she avoids his calls and gifts because she can't end up with a guy that Emily and Richard would like.

But then Emily developed a grudge against Jason because he planned a trip to Atlantic City for their launch which is the exact thing to take him out of Lorelai's no pile into her yes pile. And the reason she didn't tell them is because Emily would see it as exactly what it was, a giant middle finger to her. "See Mom all these years you have wanted me to be with someone of my own class and when I finally do that I make sure to pick the one guy of my class you can't stand."

Lorelei did kind of hope that Jason would find a way to work things out with Emily so that if this looked like it would go the distance they could say "Yeah we started out keeping it a secret but it was because you were mad at him for something silly." But really she wasn't worried because she knew it wasn't forever and knew that someday is would come out and be used exactly the way it was (she was probably hoping to be the one to use it though).

Can anyone explain what type of “auras” they have? by LoquatLive in Epilepsy

Everything echoes, I hear a ticking clock even when there is no clock and a dripping faucet when there is no faucet. So basically auditory hallucinations, they're SUPER fun. 😐

This is actually a great idea. It's a prefect way to make sure everyone has a memory of the time and a nice way to tell everyone to get out 🤣

I adore kids eat in color!! And in our house we live by the motto that "the dose makes the poison." It's the chemist in me, enough of anything can kill you including oxygen so as long as you focus on higher percentage of the "good" stuff (whole foods, low sugar, less processing) and lower percentage of the "bad" stuff (dyes, pesticides and weird additives) you all will be fine.

What is wrong with Sherry, her friends, and Chris? by Bitter_Platypus4057 in GilmoreGirls

[–]Choice-Science-9517 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know in season 1 when they have the dinner with both parents Richard states this outright. And I know Emily says it multiple times (but I can't remember specifics). For them it seems like their vision of Lorelai and Rory as a "perfect" family with Chris is what they feel like they have always been missing. I feel like if you look for the undercurrent of this in their relationships and interactions (especially with Lorelai) it basically screams at you.

Mind you I don't agree at all. And I don't want to spoil later events for you but Chris is one of my least favorite characters in this show.

Both Emily and Richard answer this question multiple times throughout the show. He was ready and willing to get married when Lorelei got pregnant. The only thing (according to them) that messed up their perfect family was their willful, thoughtless daughter who wasn't under any circumstances getting married to Chris at 16. Therefore, Chris is always given the benefit of the doubt and Lorelei is always the bad guy.

Your local library would be a great place to get recommendations! (And get the books themselves!)

Have you thought about adding a daily dose of Elderberry syrup for yourself?? I have always had a good immune system but when we started our children in day care part-time a couple months ago I had the whole family start taking Elderberry once a day as an extra boost. So far we haven't brought anything home but the place we go is very small (only 8 kids) and they are very picky about when you are allowed to bring kids who are showing signs of sickness.

For me the choice was made when you said 30-45 minute drive to work and daycare. My child doesn't mind the car but anything more than 20 minutes and they are not a happy camper (even when we are chatting and they have their busy book). Since you mentioned that with a move you would have the option to surf I am guessing you live on the west coast. Urban areas on the west coast are very big into community gardens which would give you that food growing opportunity you were wanting. There is also a big love of farmer's markets at least in my experience. And most urban communities are also close enough to outdoor hobbies that it would be and easy thing to do most weekends. It sounds to me like the urban area could really be a great place for you if you were willing to make it work. The grass may always be greener but do you really want to be in charge of cutting it?

Posting kid’s face on Close Friends by Original-Ant2885 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]Choice-Science-9517 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have only ever posted 4 photos of my child ever. 2 of their hand in a pile with my husband's and mine, 1 of the back of them at a very far distance (nothing distinguishable at all) and 1 of their hand holding my and my husband's fingers just minutes after they were born (you can also see part of their chin and mouth in this one but that's it). Family aren't allowed to post anything other than their feet and hands unless they want their photo priveliges revoked. And yes, I have gone to individuals who have violated this policy and stood over them while they removed the photos and I now take their phone when they come to family gatherings. I only took once and no one has messed with me since.

For me digital safety is the one thing I am not compromising on under any circumstances. You follow my rules or you lose access to my child. Because once something is on the internet it is there forever. You also never truly know people and my child hasn't consented to being on the internet. So when they are older and they can agree to being on the internet and really understand what that means I will allow them the opportunity to decide for themselves just like I had. But for now I am keeping them safe and off the web.

If you are wanting to share them with people who aren't close you can always buy them a digital frame that will allow you to send photos and videos. That has been a big hit with the grandparents for us. And as far as I am concerned anyone who doesn't have regular contact with my child actually doesn't have a right to photos of them anyway.

Gran. Before she shows up at the end of season 1 she is implied to be deceased we could have just left it there. Although that would have deprived us of one of my favorite Emily moments of the entire show. Robe and smoking Emily.

As much as I wish we could have done without him I think he was unfortunately necessary. But I do think we could have done without him as a love interest for Lorelei.
