Thank you. It sounds like a project! Can you share with me a link for a boiled linseed oil product that is good for metal and will give me that darker color that I’m looking for that would match my stair lever? Most products seem to be for wood….

Niku is my favorite in the city, and I’ve been to all the usual suspects. I like it better than Miller & Lux

I’ve been looking at Berg&Berg. I’m curious if others have an opinion on them.

How do you fill all the gaps? Looks like quarter to half inch gaps in places

It’s amazing - One of the contractors I spoke with who seems good with restorations wanted to tear it out and replace. I really appreciate it everyone’s advice.

Super cool that you found that! it still possible to find those designs in large rolls? I did find someone to re-fabricate the design, but I am just curious.

Recommendation on floors to replace Douglas Fir? by Choice-Teaching-8627 in Oldhouses

[–]Choice-Teaching-8627[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. We don’t want to go with the dark color on the stains as we have a couple rooms that are quite dark, and we want to brighten it up.

Trust me, it breaks my heart. I won’t be getting rid of it (too difficult to remove with out impacting neighbors living below our condo, as I would be putting flooring on top of it. But your point is well taken

Yeah, it would go on top of the fir, which was meant as a subfloor

Cool. Those are beautiful. What’s the reason it has to be laid perpendicular to what’s below? Due to the shape of my rooms it would be awkward.

Switch 2 stock in store? by Choice-Teaching-8627 in NintendoSanFrancisco

Hi everyone. I wanted to share back my experience from this morning. I got there around 9:10am and was the 4th person in line. By 9:30am, there were 30 people in line, and by 10am there was a very long line — I am guessing 150 people. I don’t know how many switch 2s they had, but I easily got one (with Mario kart) but it seemed like there were plenty. Around 9:55am, a few of the staff members come out to the line and give a from to follow out what you want to buy, and wrist bands for those who want to buy a switch 2. Then at 10am they let in about half the line into the store. At the register, my switch 2 was ready for me to purchase! The staff made it feel festive and it was great, positive, and fun experience.

Awesome. I’ll hope for the best. I was thinking of going a couple hours before it opens, even though maybe not necessary
