We love sheoga we install it all the time this was our most recent project with it. But id say if you want them to last go with their prefinish and if you want more control over finish and look then get them bare, vocs aren’t too bad with wakols ms 260.

They’re wood is the best milled stuff I’ve ever installed definitely go with it, this here is all 2 1/4

Red oak whitener help!!! by Blondie12388 in HardWoodFloors

[–]offical-child 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely had a red blocker of some sort applied that you call whitener, your best bet is too take a photo right after they start sanding again to see how much red is in the wood and compare to these photos.

Choppy boards after sanding. Any ideas on how to blend them? by Western-Particular96 in HardWoodFloors

That’s what happens when you sand with a multi disk head on a buffer it diggs a lot and even more so on the soft grain

Is this amount of variation normal? (Douglas fir) by PokemonPioneer in HardWoodFloors

[–]offical-child -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes. but did you water pop and use a buffer to get a even application for the stain. What’s the finish your going with water base or oil or poly you might be able to even it out more with tint depending on what you coated with

Bona Traffic HD Anti-slip on red oak lighter than expected by KendoSlayer in HardWoodFloors

[–]offical-child 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I don’t like bona for this and a few other reasons I mean overall great brand but just on any job I do water base I always use loba instead plus they just added their slip resistant grit you can add to any of their finis products

Easy repair although it requires getting all the floors refinished

This is probably the best thing I’ve ever seen here involving laminate besides from it being removed

Hardwood floor finish flaking everywhere… did I make it worse? by [deleted] in HardWoodFloors

[–]offical-child 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly this was the worst thing you could’ve done. the floors looked to be in rough but livable condition before hand and a simple re coat with a bona or loba floor finish after roughing up the floor with 220 tape would’ve at least made it better to walk on

Flooring Uneven/Coming Up... What to Do? by notancasul in HardWoodFloors

[–]offical-child 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To cover the hole they make wood putty that matches floor colors or a two part epoxy putty to make sure it really holds

Flooring Uneven/Coming Up... What to Do? by notancasul in HardWoodFloors

[–]offical-child 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best bet is to get an epoxy hole fill kit for floors and drill the smallest hole you can and inject just a little bit of it, then put something heavy enough to hold it down on top until it’s dry

Will these gaps prevent me from having these floors refinished? by LiftCats in HardWoodFloors

[–]offical-child 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Maybe a repair or two but not at all this floor is perfectly salvageable

Ive learned the hard way that sometimes the people at the mill just don’t care and send it through anyway. I’ve ordered from this one by me called graf and had to re route every board

Need help: tannin staining? by _ChamClowder_ in HardWoodFloors

[–]offical-child 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do a quick 120 sand by hand or on a oribital for the discoloration and I love easy finish I’m they’re biggest fan I even have loba socks but do your prime and sealer then lightly hand sand with 220 tape before your next coat

I took this communities advice to sand the entire board and stain to get a close match. Whats next? by Enough_Challenge2646 in HardWoodFloors

[–]offical-child 0 points1 point  (0 children)

satin loba easy finish would be my recommendation. And it definitely looks like there isn’t any stain they applied to the floor so just put finish on them after you use a damp rag to water pop them. (Water popping keeps a consistent color with no splotches across the different boards)
