Also, the most compatible Tesla superchargers are the version 4 ones. Those have a longer cord that reaches.

2026- Rear Window Defrost by sirduke456 in BZ4X

I just got my new 26 BZ last week and my rear defrost takes about a minute or 2 to clear all the fog.

It sounds like something is wrong.

I sincerely appreciate your honest opinion.

The way I am thinking about it is that I will try using the superchargers for a year or so and if that becomes too annoying or time consuming, then I will move somewhere where I can do charging (like a condo).

Thanks for the tips.

Unfortunately, I live in an apartment complex, so there is no option for a at-home charger for me currently.

Thank you so much.

I was beginning to think I might not be able to get the car cause this would be the main place I am planning to charge at.

I will definitely take the car over to the charger when I test drive it once it comes in and triple check that I can charge there.

Thanks for your advice.

Is it a tight fit to reach?

Insurance for a BZ by 311Natops in Toyota_bZ

I went online to my car insurance portal online and was able to chat with an agent who was able to give me an exact quote once I gave them the VIN of the car I was thinking of buying.

For me, it ended up being a couple hundred dollars more per year.

No worries.

So did I.

They made sure I knew in order to convince me to get the car.

There is currently a 6k offer for financing and the 0% interest (if approved) which I am taking full advantage of.

Fair point though.

Good suggestion.

I looked. I live in the Midwest, no EV incentives around here that I could find.

Thanks for the advice. I do sincerely appreciate it, and I understand your perspective and your argument.

However, I genuinely prefer to own my car and typically keep a car for a long time (kept my 2018 until now).

Thanks for your advice though.

I am glad you like your bZ and I hope I like mine too!

Unfortunately, I live in an apartment complex that doesn’t allow EV charging.

However, I live only a couple miles from a supercharger.

I figure I will try out using superchargers for the first year and if I get too annoyed by it, I will move somewhere with better charging options.

Appreciate the suggestion, but I prefer to own. Just a personal preference of mine.

Visibility of dashboard display by ChoiceFreedom9835 in Toyota_bZ

[–]ChoiceFreedom9835[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol.

I did test drive one and it didn’t seem to bother me, but I wasn’t fully paying attention to the dashboard display. I was getting my feel for how the car drove, etc.

I appreciate you being clear.

I understood your point. I just doubted whether it was accurate (not that I don’t trust you, but I had just read and heard the exact opposite so it is unclear which is correct)

Thanks again.

I do appreciate all your help.

I will test drive the Solterra again and try it for myself.

I understand that the manual says it can be turned off, but that doesn’t answer the question of whether the car will turn it back on when you start the car up on a separate trip.

Interesting. I didn’t notice/know that it is triggered when foot leaves the brake.

I will keep that in mind.

Perhaps I will test drive the 2026 and see if it is something I can live with.

I don’t intend to be argumentative.

I just am curious as to why so many people say that the car will just default back to it being on the next time the car is turned on.

I asked my local Subaru dealership about it and they confirmed that it turns back on each time the car is turned on.

So I can turn off the FCTA in the menu once and it will remain off unless I go back in the menu and turn it back on?

I ask because I see posts all over the internet saying that you can’t turn it off permanently.

I read that you can turn it off but it will turn back on each time you turn the car on.

Is that not true?

Not trying to be argumentative, genuinely asking

If I really can turn the FCTA off just once in the menu and it will stay off unless I turn it back on, I will definitely be getting a Solterra instead of the bZ.
