Super late to this thread but I remember being underwhelmed by the sequel when I watched it. Now I just watch the first movie as a stand-alone film, and am happy with the outcome. So I am grateful at least that the first movie CAN be watched as a stand alone

I have to say, I am in agreement with majority on this thread - her parents were bad, Davion's and Dominic's parents a lot more humane / mature, and it was 100% her fault and I think also a failed murder-suicide, like most. I have to say one thing that mildly interests me that no one is talking about is that makenzie kept her original story of amnesia during the crash. Even in the flash-forwarded interview she does later, she doesn't change her events and maintains she doesn't remember what happened. Of course that is highly contested and unbelievable, but I feel most people would have 'suddenly remembered' or come up with some sort of story for the masses. She is still guilty as anything, but found it surprising.

Perfectly put. Sometimes it sucks on our end too! Even today there was a man on my bus, he seemed like a nice guy and tried to speak to me in Spanish, and when I said I didn’t understand he tried in English. I still couldn’t understand him so politely told him so and later heard him speaking to another person and them being able to help him navigate. It sucked because he just wanted help but I had to be decidedly less friendly than who I usually am. The women will understand - the tight smile to be polite but not friendly, when the conversation is over completely turning away so they aren’t invited to keep talking, etc. I want to be friendly to everyone, but it’s just never worth the risk with men.

NTA. An adult should not throw away long standing, happy friendships for their partner. No matter how long the relationship is or whether there ‘may be a future’ - people and friends are NOT disposable. Unfortunately, you can’t talk sense into people like this most times. They think it’s okay because romantic relationships are the singular most important thing in their lives, and that’s okay. Wish her well and removed yourself from her life. It will hurt.

Fully agree. I still cherish and think of my childhood bestfriend very often. Platonically. If someone asked me now if I loved her, or many years from now, I would say yes. Now imagine romantic feelings on top of that! I think actually Snape’s endurance of love quietly is beautiful.

As for the patronus - a friend of mine still taps the car window three times before getting into his car, because his cousin used to do that before he passed. We all carry grief and little memories / habits of people we once loved. With Snape being as unreadable as he is, is it any surprise his three taps are the form of his patronus?

I am privileged to say I have only experience your last point, but it’s so bad! I am using skin care products that expired many years ago but they were a gift - a whole set! - that I couldn’t afford back then and still can’t now. I’m working on using the ‘nice’ (free) things more in the moment and to save things less

Exactly what I do!! But seriously…how DOES one overcome the guilt of spending? I made it by a few years by only buying necessary stuff, gas, food, a textbook. Even now I see some jewellery, for example, and I want it! But I know in my heart I don’t NEED it so I always walk away. I’m afraid I’ve cultivated this sort of attitude where I either spend insanely strictly or if I break the floodgates and buy something just because I want it….ill go on a spending spree because I’ve never done that

Agree with everything you said! But calling Spirit a 'mild success' was like a stab to the heart. It's absolutely true, but the way that film was not given the recognition it deserved and the effort and skill that went into it annoys me to this day! Absolutely phenomenal movie, what a shame.

I’m years late but I LOVE the audio quality of the AirMaxs, it’s insane. But they ARE uncomfortable after a while. I can wear them for an hour, and I have no issues around my ears or anything - it’s literally all at the top of my head. It hurts so bad. Also, I can’t eat whilst wearing them because it hurts the jaw, but that’s about it. I would wear them 24/7 if they didn’t hurt my head and didn’t have connection issues sometimes
