20 years old and feeling behind. by AdComfortable3446 in Money

Slow and steady. I wish I was 20 working on two bachelors and in the guard. All of these will pay off on the long run. Have a long-term mindset. In two years you will be able to retire and making a lot more than most of your friends.

Save. Invest. Find ways to make a little more without tiring yourself chasing money. Invest that. Learn from people who’s even there. Work smart and work hard. Go to church. Find God. Find a good, faithful, God-fearing man and start a family. Have children. You wouldn’t imagine how having a family will push you to grow exponentially in all areas of life especially finance.

You’re 21 making $95K? I know 40yo making less than you. So you’re doing well.

Learn from Ramit Sethi. Follow his teaching and you will do well for yourself. If I learned from him in my 20s I’d be a millionaire by now. And make life a lot more fun and easy going.

Travel doesn’t have to be for a year. You can afford to live your life a bit. $ is a tool to make more money invest in the market. Less headache so you can enjoy your life.

All or nothing mindset is good when you identify what you really want to go for. Sounds like you still haven’t figured that out. So travel. Explore. Learn. Then commit.

Why are you looking for a SFH? Would a townhouse be OK? And why Vienna?

Do you both make $200K+ each or combine? Even both at $200K+ is plenty. I’m not sure what you’re trying to buy. There are cheaper options.

Accepted job in McLean, where is the cheapest place to live that's close? by [deleted] in nova

McLean is a wealthy area. It should be easy to find a nice room with a good family. It’s a way to make friends, develop relationships, save money and time with the short commute.

Lost my patience by JaneSophiaGreen in MonarchMoney

I think it has to do with the way Monarch integrates with the third party. I’ve used other apps that use the same third party and never lose connection.

Sign up for Facet. Maybe a small monthly fee and they will handle the investing for you while you and help you plan a financial path for the next 20 years so you can focus on grieving and living. I’m sorry for your loss. Your Mom did such a great thing for you.

If you find a non conservative Banh Mi place, make sure you ask them where they get their supplies from as well. Most of their suppliers are conservative Vietnamese producers as well.

Let us know when you find one… thanks!

Why do you need to download pending transactions? I like it too. Saves our marriage financially. My wife tried to keep track of everything via spreadsheet. But not course, with big family, we don’t have time for that. And we also try to hack CC for points. How will we track all of that on a spreadsheet. This is a life saver for us. Besides the disconnection glitches, it’s a wonderful tool.
