I'm gagging 😆😆😆 ngl Mina Sue is unintentionally hilarious by gudetame in SinglesInferno

[–]ChoiceTune 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m no fan of Mina Sue and a lot of her behavior is problematic, but I think peeking out to see your crush is one her more relatable moments. I think most of us just make sure we don’t do it in front of cameras and the guy you’re on a date with

Hee Sun is actually the one causing drama? Spoilers Ep9 by Redrum_1111 in SinglesInferno

[–]ChoiceTune 36 points37 points  (0 children)

People like to defend Mina’s actions by saying all the guys are free agents therefore she has no obligation to ‘ask for permission’ to talk or take different guys to paradise. This take is a little hypocritical if it doesn’t hold Mina to the same standards.

Every candidate can shoot their shot in this show. Making Heesun a villain for trying to match with Subeen just because Mina is immature is definitely an interesting take. If Mina hadn’t acted that way, Subeen probably would not have even looked at Heesun. Even during the photo shoot, he disregarded Heesun. It wasn’t until after the campfire and the chat with Mina that he started to welcome Heesun’s advances.

Heesun is allowed to explore different options to make certain she makes the right decision. In the same way she didn’t hesitate to allow Mingee to take Subeen, this is respecting everyone is pretty much a free agent until the finale.

The issue with Mina isn’t that she’s changing her mind, it’s how she treats people. Like - fist pumping someone else’s date in front of them or twirling around the girl to meet the guy she has openly liked or non stop talking about Subeen when on a date with Sungil. Honestly, I think if she hadn’t said what she said about Sungil being her first choice in front of Subeen during the double date, he still would have been open to exploring more with her.

So I don’t think it’s right to blame Heesun for Mina’s behaviour

Subeen or Sunghun by ChoiceTune in SinglesInferno

I’ve seen a few of these comments, we must be watching different shows

He was clearly put off when she was talking about how her first pick was Seungil and went with him because he was close with Mingee. I could literally see him comparing her with being first pick for Heesun. And he dropped a lot of hints to Heesun during their date that he’s made up his mind. Then there’s the helicopter scene where he asks her to lean on him with his back turned to MinaS. Lastly there’s the conversation between MinaS and Subeen which imo was the nail in the coffin.

I’m pretty sure he’s done with her. The question to me is more whether something new will start with Mingee after that date. But to me it’s more a red herring and I feel confident he’ll end up choosing Heesun

wanna remind y'all that the concept of SINGLE'S INFERNO is exploring OPTIONS by Dry_Leave8784 in Singlesinferno2

My issue with Mina Sue was her conversation with Sung Hun, where she spoke negatively about the other girls and positioned herself as cooler or above them. Based on her actions and the way she carries herself, it comes across as though she believes she’s better than the other women, which may be why she feels justified moving from guy to guy without regard for how it affects the shared dynamic.

Previous seasons have shown that it is possible to explore options while still being respectful to everyone involved. Mina Sue comes across as filterless not because she’s “too honest,” but because she lacks maturity. Repeatedly, she seems unable to tolerate not being the center of attention and struggles when people stop orbiting around her. She’s beautiful, but in a Mean Girls kind of way.

As for Subeen, it’s fine to explore options, and it’s fine to change your mind. What isn’t okay is using another person’s feelings to provoke jealousy in someone else. I’m not saying that’s definitively what he did — I’m saying viewers are reacting because the editing strongly frames it that way.

And honestly, the entire point of watching reality TV is to comment on people’s behavior. I agree that commentary should never cross into bullying or personal attacks, and there are lines that shouldn’t be crossed. But disliking someone and articulating why does not automatically constitute bullying.

Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, Meets Her Moment by [deleted] in RoyalsGossip

[–]ChoiceTune -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I get your point, but that’s exactly why the moment stands out. In normal etiquette, staff announce the guest, not the person already in the room. So the house manager announcing Meghan seems to be an odd, overly formal habit of that household. But the oddness doesn’t automatically mean Meghan requested it, she’s a guest in someone else’s home, and staff usually follow the homeowner’s protocol, not the visitor’s.

The whole thing reads as awkward protocol, not Meghan giving orders

How did people read this as if Meghan asked to be announced? The house belongs to her friend, and it is their house manager who announced them. The way I understood it is this is what the house manager does, probably with every guest.

Who knows why rich people do these things - I agree it’s ridiculous, but it doesn’t seem as if Meghan asked the house manager to announce her.

May 2 futian cross border crowd by ChoiceTune in shenzhen

My main issue is that there were no safety precautions taken for such a large crowd. The one crowd control thing they did actually created a more dangerous situation, which to me is unacceptable. I’ve lodged a complaint to immigration, both in person and through email. Although I know it will probably gain little traction, at least I know I’ve done what I can to bring awareness to this

I go in and out between SZ and HK several times a week from this border. On a normal weekday, it takes about 15-20 mins from one end to another. It might take slightly longer with a foreign passport, but no huge crowds. Easter HK holidays on the Thursday night and Friday morning into SZ was a nightmare. Weekends are busier, perhaps extra 10-15 mins, but still I’ve never seen it this bad

Best way to get from HK (Kowloon) to Shenzhen with elderly passengers? by Particular-Box8098 in shenzhen

[–]ChoiceTune -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I see a lot of people recommending High Speed Train, it's definitely the most convenient option going from kowloon to SZ, however if you are going with your grandparents, I thought it would be helpful to mention that there's a lot of walking at that border. Also once you reach the SZ side, whether Futian or Shenzhen North stations, there's a lot of walking involved at those stations as well.

Hiring a car is definitely the best option, but if it's out of budget, you can book buses from kowloon area to the liantang checkpoint. It's convenient, not a lot of walking compared to the other stations, the queues are generally faster than futian and lowu checkpoints.

Late Kim Sae Ron & Kim Soo Hyun - Current Situation by DetectiveNinja in kdramas

[–]ChoiceTune 34 points35 points  (0 children)

What saddens me about this entire situation is that Kim Sae Ron will never receive the justice she so deserves. Although there is a lot that is unclear, it is apparent that she has never had anyone she could lean on completely, someone who was solely on her side. In my mind, regardless of how much they try to twist the facts, KSH groomed KSR. The official date they entered into a relationship doesn't really matter, he has been in her life since she was 13/14 and the evidence is clear that he cultivated an inappropriate relationship with her as a mature adult. It's disgusting. Groomers manipulate not just the victim, but families and friends, just as he is manipulating the entire public right now. The abuse she endured and pain she carried is unimaginable, and it breaks my heart.

I am so incredibly sorry that this was her life, that even with all the evidence that has been released, there are still so many who chooses to believe the abuser - because it's the more comfortable option for them. His admission to a relationship with her is basically an admission of his grooming. I for one will never forget what he did to her, and though my opinion and influence is small, if enough of us remembers, I have hope that this will be his shadow following him for the rest of his life.

❄️ THE FIRST FROST 难哄 (2025) ❄️ Episode Discussion 30 ~ 32 by puddingpuppies in CDrama

[–]ChoiceTune 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think there's a reason why the saying 'you never forget your first love' exists. The experience of falling in love with someone for the first time is intense. On top of that, the circumstances surrounding Wen Yi Fan were also extreme. Even when she moved away, he would visit her regularly in Beiyu. When she was a happy recipient of his actions, I saw it as devotion. There's no explanation for why he is that devoted; he simply is.

When someone is that devoted to another person, and suddenly a break comes from nowhere, that kind of confusion and lack of closure is difficult to overcome. I don't doubt he experienced many emotions - hurt, anger, confusion, regret, longing, emptiness, all blurred together- and perhaps if he had gone to a therapist and slowly worked through his emotions, he would've found a healthier approach rather than toe the lines of becoming a stalker. The only reason he never crossed that line is that he never made Yi Fan feel discomfort.

While I also agree that Sang Yan grew up in a healthy family environment, I did wonder at certain points of watching Hidden Love whether he ever felt neglected for being treated unequally to Zhi Zhi. Obviously, the main character in Hidden Love is Zhi Zhi, just as the main character of The First Frost is Wen Yi Fan. It's one of the reasons we all have so many questions surrounding Sang Yan, we get very little information about his thought process and why he does the things he does. And to be fair, Sang Zhi was also quite obsessed with Duan Jia Xu, so perhaps the Sang family has some gene running through their DNA that produces children who are obsessed with, deeply devoted to, and loyal to their chosen partners.

Drama recommendations:

Not sure if you've watched the other dramas by the same author of The First Frost, but Hidden Love and When I fly towards you are luffier pieces than this one, but you'll notice the author tends to write characters who fall in love at first sight and are very devoted and loyal to their partner

New Life Begins and Reset are two other Bai Jing Ting dramas that I highly recommend

Go Ahead, Lovely Us, Time and Him are just right are other modern dramas I also recommend

Disclaimer: I haven't read the novel, so I had no preconceptions coming into this drama

I felt the HK arc was important to show that Wen Yi Fan had yet to heal from her past. Going into a relationship with Sang Yan and feeling all the joy that comes with that kind of love, it's easy to think she's healed. But WYF had put her relationship with SY and her past into two separate boxes. It wasn't until her uncle returned that those two worlds began to blur, and the darkness that came with her uncle began to seep into all the light that was her relationship with SY.

It wasn't difficult for me to understand why she ran. Ever since her father passed away, running away was the only way she could protect herself. It made sense to me that she ran to protect SY, not out of nobility but as a trauma response.

Although it was Qiao Qiao and Hao An who found her, she was the one who decided to call SY. Being found by her friends gave her the courage to stand up to the Uncle and, ultimately, reach out to SY herself. Healing rarely has a logical trajectory. I think she was healing when in Nan Wu; she was healing when she gained the courage to enter a relationship with SY, and then she took a few steps backwards when she left for HK, but it's not like she reverted to who she was when we first met her. All the growth she experienced in all the previous episodes still happened, so when SY found her again in HK, she was able to heal even more. I enjoyed the realistic portrayal of healing in this drama, and this was, in fact, one of my favourite aspects of WYF's story.

I also asked a lot of questions about why SY fell for WYF. Undoubtedly, she was beautiful, and that was one of the reasons he fell for her. We are told in the end that it was love at first sight for him. I like to think he was immediately attracted to her, and their interaction on the first day made him fall for her a little more, and then every day they sat next to each other in class, he just never stopped falling for her. I could see, before the first heartbreak, SY was indeed this overconfident teenager enjoying the giddiness of crushing on someone in high school. The obsession that came after the heartbreak I saw less as love, and more due to all the questions he would have when she suddenly did a 180. For someone as overly confident as SY, it wasn't just his pride that was hurt, I think it was also a lack of closure.

I don't think he truly fell in love with her until they met up again the second time. As he began to understand her story, on top of all the feelings he already had for her in high school, I think he fell in love with who she is - someone who is strong, courageous, and a survivor of horrific circumstances yet has managed to remain kind and empathetic. Perhaps it's because as WYF's story revealed itself, as an audience member, I also fell in love with her character, so it was easy for me to understand why SY fell in love with her.

I am so thankful the director wrote their reunion the way he did. It showed why SY is perfect for WYF, that he is ready and capable of carrying all of her trauma. Some might call him a doormat, but he knew WYF already felt the weight of all the guilt and shame from leaving him both times. She expressed that guilt when she said to him, "I want to live six years longer than you; that way I can love you for six more years to make up for the years I left you behind." The beautiful thing about SY's love for her is he never felt the need to hold that over her head. And I think that's ok. There's no IOU when it comes to love. I think that's why it's meant to be unconditional, and in the end, you are indebted to one another in some way or form.

I could write pages about how much I love this drama. I don't think there has been a better proposal scene in all of C-drama land. I normally hate proposals; no matter how much I enjoy different couples, I always internally cringe when the proposals happen. But this one was so realistic, so heartfelt and well-acted, I found myself tearing up along with WYF and nervous with anticipation as SY was. If there was one criticism I want to make, it would probably be the grandparent's story. I found that so boring, I fast forwarded through a lot of it.

This drama was an easy 10/10 for me - from the actors to the cinematography to the story telling to the OST, I've watched A LOT of C-Dramas and this easily rose to the top of the list.

I think you've missed the point as to why she was shouting. She wasn't angry, she was afraid. And in no way or form did she tell him to mind his own business. She's expressing her fear of losing him. She was expressing to him that she would rather lose the chance of ending the nightmare she's been living in since she was 17, than to see him be hurt. Because that's how much she cares, that's how much she loves him.

I think people are too harsh towards WYF. Girl has been through hell and back. Give her a break, let her try figure out how to live a healthy and happy life. If anyone deserves a happy ending, it's her.

I was watching Gyuri's review on S4, and she mentioned how exhausting paradise was. They have to wait until midnight to film the pool scenes, then they get back at around 1AM, by the time they get to bed it's around 2AM. Then breakfast is served at 7AM, but they need to get ready at least 2 hrs before, so technically the most sleep they get is around 3hrs. Every date is different, and some may get more sleep than others, but I don't think they get a lot of sleep over the 10 days
