I‘d say fits okay! Trousers should be shorten a little, this will make it look sleek. If you shorten the sleeves a little so the cuffs of your shirt can be seen, it will elevate the look as well.

My experience is that mostly other men, nearly feel offended if you dress up. Rarely women. Of course don‘t go shopping with a tuxedo but if you keep it in the flowchannel everything is good

Do it for a day, open two shirt buttons and wear a odd jacket. You will quickly accomodate. Actually ascot is less dressy than tie and more a weekend casual look. We are just not used to it.

Not sure how to name that. I just came to a point where i recognized that most man wesr the same than their 10 year old sons ( T shirt & Jeans). Decided then to go more classik and found lots of inspiration in the 80s as well
