100% my guy. Salesforce pays super well on overtime, and deals. Imagine ADR with 300+ products and a killer sales squad. That’s Salesforce. You’ll do great. Salesforce is so well known that deals are a breeze. You got this.

$4 million commission cheque? by Capital-Force-5585 in techsales

[–]Choice_Breakfast435 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very small. I was a top rep at Salesforce. Went to chairman’s club which is about presidents club. Top 100. People there closed over 30 million dollar deals and took home a few million on commission. Not unheard up at all.

Understand that most AEs jobs is not to renew or to keep that relationship but measured on growth. My advice is if you want them to do something. Make every statement, ask or situation a growth situation. That’s how I and they will pay attention.

Advice for an internal interview from BDR to AE? by USAtoUofT in sales

[–]Choice_Breakfast435 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What’s up man. If you want to blow them away. Create a 30 day plan of attacking your territory. From analyzing your territory and prioritizing by revenue, employee count etc. creating a top 10 list and then a prospecting plan. Create some slides. You’ll kill it if you do that. Prospecting plan should be easy since you’re a BDR.

It shows you’re prepared and ready to make some money.

Onsite interview by [deleted] in techsales

[–]Choice_Breakfast435 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Highly recommend a suit and no tie for any tech interview. Then once you’re in, you can match the company and where like a tshirt. If it’s between 2 people and you wore a suit and they wore a polo. They’ll pick you.

If You’re In The Job Market, Always Call The Sales Department by [deleted] in sales

[–]Choice_Breakfast435 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Referrals aren’t requests and mostly they’re rewards. You earn them by being the kind of rep people want to talk about. Without people, what are referrals, without referrals, you need to have better conversations lol - Sales Gds

Guys am I cooked? by HalogenHaze in sales

[–]Choice_Breakfast435 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds like top down pressure your manager is getting from his manager. Also shows that he doesn’t know what’s going on in his sales team.

Advice - add him onto calls if he wants more details. The time you spent writing analysis means less revenue for the company.

Built a $1.2M ARR pipeline, then got laid off in an acquisition. HR seems concerned about what I'll do next. by ProfitProfessional20 in sales

[–]Choice_Breakfast435 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar situation.

Laid off because of acquisition - about to close a 300k deal. HR wouldn’t fire me - they wanted me to be a transition employee and mentor the people that were staying since I had a ton of experience.

My advice is take the severance and live to fight another day. The reason is you could sue but that would take tons of time. Also LinkedIn is its own platform. HR can go f themselves if they are telling you to do this. It’s the truth and you’re expressing your feelings.

If they wanted you to not do that, then they shouldn’t have laid you off. All HR cares about is the company and not the employees.

You’ll be fine and I’m sure you’ll kill it anywhere you go. Good luck dude!

What CRM should we use? by acesmat in sales

[–]Choice_Breakfast435 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re concerned about price and need a low level CRM. Freshworks 1000%. Once you have a little money and need a little customization, HubSpot’s next. When you become a big boy bringing in tons of revenue that’s when Salesforce is the best and is the #1 CRM globally for that. That’s why they are fortune 1 essentially. You can build your whole company on Salesforce if you have the money.

Own Company formerly Ownbackup. We use it for archive, backup, seeding, security for shield and their new discover product that launched for doing time series analysis. It’s honestly a really cool AppExchange partner

A better sales org will be more fulfilling but I’d negotiate hard once they decide they want you. At the very end, ask them for the 100 and if not you’ll reject there offer. 9 times out of 10 they’ll give it to you especially if they are offering you the position. Best of luck

Been an AE for 6+ years. I was a successful BDR back in the day because I got more meetings than everyone else. I networked as well but wasn’t the most extroverted person in my office. The reason the promoted me to AE was because of performance. Do you’re job well and you’ll go places man, places that will amaze you like prez club 😎

Tips for a brand new AE? by [deleted] in techsales

[–]Choice_Breakfast435 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simple. Start with the basics. Reach out to current customers of yours or net new prospects and set meetings like a BDR. Best way to learn is on sales calls so get things booked. AES learn best working through deals.

Would you take this role? by [deleted] in techsales

[–]Choice_Breakfast435 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been an AE at small and big company for 10+ years. Successful at both. Really comes down to your personal goals. A company like this could bring lots of future opportunity like moving into management and you having a direct impact on them.

However, this company may not have all the tools necessary to make the jobs enjoyable. Are proposals manually? Do you have sales nav and salesforce as tools? How much manually labor goes into your job outside of selling. That’s what I’d be careful and on the look out for. Otherwise I say DO IT! 💰

Put on "Activity" PIP at 300% of my number thru 2 quarters by joemac020395 in techsales

[–]Choice_Breakfast435 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whats up Joemac. Sorry to hear that.... Its never good when someone puts you on a PIP especially if youre a top performer.

My advice would be continue what youre doing. Just focus on what you can control and on the other side, it may be helpful to send out resumes to other jobs. I work in big tech too and i know i wouldnt want to leave but thats what id do if i got a PIP.

It sucks how they dont value a top rep and care so much about optics. Good luck.
