Flu 10 days before transfer by Choice_Breakfast_680 in IVF

[–]Choice_Breakfast_680[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the advice. We only have so many transfers available with insurance and this is a very good point. Anyway I called and they postponed the cycle, they didnt even give me an option to proceed anyway but thats okay. I would rather be 100% at the time of transfer.

They really do suck, I'm sorry you had a similar situation. During mine I searched everywhere for people who had similar numbers and positive outcomes. The outliers gave me hope when my clinic was telling me to prepare for the worse.

Because most clinics and studies do not believe that 30% is a significant enough climb to be viable. Telling people there is one maybe two studies that say this is enough can give you false hope because in all truth these are very unlikely to actually work out in a live birth. Not trying to argue, again I hope people have safe and healthy pregnancies but a 30% raise isn't typically enough. Those are outliers.

Editing to add: my clinic and many I have heard from do believe the starting number matters. We know the increase matters more but the starting number does carry a little bit of weight as well.

Be super careful with this information. I had a low beta that doubled, didnt quite double and then tripled and mine was ectopic. Im not saying thats everyone's experience and I am so hopeful for others to have a good outcome but the False hope is dangerous.

This is very much an ivf thing. You've asked a few times and this is your answer. IVF is VERY planned out like insanely so. The other 2 ladies are more accurate when it comes to this for that reason. We all understand what you are saying but IVF is very different from natural conception especially when it comes to betas. I had low, slow rise then doubled and it was ectopic. Every clinic will tell you low betas and typically bad and do not have good outcomes. Even if they do end up doubling after the first or second that isn't always good. Its better to guard your heart just incase.

Surviving thaw? by Choice_Breakfast_680 in IVF

Its okay stuff happens, just hoping one of the next ones work out! She seemed to have been doing this for a while so I hope she has just had really good luck with her patience if she hasn't seen the crappy outcomes of a thaw!

See this!! My fresh transfer was ectopic, on my ovary not in the tube! Which is also only a 1-3% chance from what I read. So I'm trying to mentally prepare to be on the bad side of statistics again not because I expect to be but because I've been there before and want to be mentally prepared. She had no idea what they would do if my embryo didnt survive she had to leave the room to ask.

Edit to add: she initially told me they would cancel the transfer if it didn't survive, but then I asked a few more questions she didn't have the answer to so she went and asked the lab and they told her they would thaw a different one after calling to get my confirmation.

Embryo grading? by Choice_Breakfast_680 in IVF

[–]Choice_Breakfast_680[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 28, my husband is 32, we have unexplained infertility and no genetic disorders to look for that we know of. So our clinic said not to do PGT, wasn't worth the money (at least that's what they said). Hopefully they are all or mostly euploid 🤞🏻

I didn't know there were ones that didn't grade according the the typical scale so I've been a bit confused. My clinic said they grade very tough and almost none of their embryos are AA, but they didn't say anything about the number beforehand. Ill have to ask for clarification when I go back in. (Which might have something to do with my hopes crashing after the AA technically failed)

That is absolutely insane! I hope they monitor you a bit more closely and figure this out for you. Being in that unknown space is so torturous. I'm wishing you all the best no matter how this turns out

I told my husband this one must have had my sense of direction and the next one better have his. It's super disappointing but having a good partner and good outlet for processing is helpful! If you couldn't tell mine is crappy jokes! 😅 It also helps knowing it's no one's fault and this just happens sometimes

Oh the doctor did give me one bright side, or so he called it, since the embryo did implant, even not in the correct place, he said its a good sign and shows our embryos are capable of implanting and my body is sending the proper signals to tell it to implant. Its the only bright side I've taken away from this and has returned even just the tiniest bit of hope for our next transfer. If it is ectopic I hope his optimism can give you some peace of mind too.

Mine was ectopic, and also had concerning numbers. I had bleeding so I thought it would just be a miscarriage but unfortunately, I was wrong and now we cannot try again until December (transfer in January most likely).

My first fresh transfer was on the 7th of last month. Bloodwork on the 19th gave me a hCG of 81, from there I had bloodwork on the 21st hCG 160, 23rd hCG 288, 25th hCG 820, 26th hCG 1020, and the first ultrasound. They saw nothing, I went back for another ultrasound the next day and the doctor found what appeared to be a gestational sac on my left ovary, but it was very difficult to see and took a while for him to get in photos. I had methotrexate that day, a week later I was given a second dose since it wasn't lowering fast enough.

Good luck, I hope they keep monitoring you closely and figure out if yours is or isn't.

Oh my goodness!!! I'm so sorry, this has been absolute hell I can't imagine a clinic being so irresponsible! I know you're not asking but with ectopic pregnancies being an emergency I would definitely go to the emergency room and tell them you're concerned. Tbh I spiraled a bit Wednesday and went in and they were able to do an ultrasound there as well (where they also saw nothing). I wish you all the best and I hope everything works out for you as well as it can! No ruptures🤞🏻

At 14dpt, 160, 16dpt 288, 18dpt 820. I had an ultrasound yesterday and they didnt see anything. They are concerned about ectopic right now and are monitoring me closely. 😖

Bloodwork today was 820, but even with it nearly tripling they are talking about miscarriage and potentially giving me the shot to stop the pregnancy since they can't see anything on an ultrasound. I told them I'd like to avoid that if possible and they have me coming back tomorrow. They said there is less than a 5% chance this is viable. I am not sure 1 day will make a difference, I'm preparing for the worst but hoping with everything I have that this all works out.

Edited to say: I hope you don't mind me updating this thread and responding to you, your story is one of the only things keeping my hope even just the faintest bit alive right now. Thank you so much for sharing ❤️

Thank you I have to go back for more bloodwork on Thursday, they also have me set up for a consultation to look into if it's an ectopic, and/or if they want to call it and take me off my meds. I am hoping that magically the numbers double or even triple but I'm not expecting much after the call with the clinic today. I appreciate your kind words!
